The Gransport's the latest version of Maserati's old coupé. It came first from the 3200GT and then to the 4200GT. With each version the coupés got better in handling, build quality and reliability. In 2007, Maserati finally released the successor to the Gransport - the GranTurismo, sporting the same engine (albeit tuned for more power) and new looks from design house, Pininfarina. The Gransport in contrast was designed by Guigiaro.

A few weeks after the release of the new GranT, which one do you guys prefer?

Gransport

A lot of people who own Gransports now don't like the new look at all. They don't like the 'Japanese-looking' lights, the rather awkward rear lights and the 'sharp' edges of the interior.

Personally, over time I've grown to love the Gransport. The first time I saw it, I thought that it was a real pity it lost the boomerang rear lights, as that was one of the defining features of the car. But as I see more and more of the redesigned lights I found it rather appropriate for the car. The boomerang lights were a little too futuristic for this type of emotive car. Then, I went on to admire the good proportions of the car. The rear hunch really defines the coupé look and the Gransport really perfected the look with its rims, mesh grille and chiselled looks.

At first I saw the GranT, I was underwhelmed. I didn't like it at all, I felt it had no emotion. But it grew on me. I now think it's a worthy successor to the Gransport. It had a modern look that the Gransport couldn't replicate. But I think the Gransport's interior, while messy, had more emotion.

Anyway, I chose the GranT. :usa7uh:

I choose the GranSport because it's design actually appeals to me without questioning myself about whether I like it or not. I cannot say the same for the other.

That's true. It's just pure beauty; the GranT needs some inspection before you think it's beautiful.

I prefer the GranTurismo, the old model still looks good, but parts such as the door handles are starting to look dated, so it's time for the new model!

Just from the photos, the GranTurismo looks very good, and the interior looks awesome!

I voted for the GranSport! I really like the design and you can get it has a convertible... :D

There wasn't a GranT at the show you were at?

Somehow, from the pictures, the GranT's interior looks a little mass-manufactured to me... :t-hands:

Soon, GranT convertible will come. :D

No, just some quattroportes!

Well, just from the pictures, the interior of the new car seems more luxurious and modern to me!

That blue aluminium on the dash/fascia of the old picture looks interesting -- I like that material, Gemballa use a similar material in their interiors too. (I am assuming it is like this material ....I could be very wrong)

It looks the same but the one on the GS is soft and just like a pillow. I think it's a different material. Regardless, many people hated that trim and opted for leather instead.

BTW, updated the first post with pictures. :usa7uh:

Gransport for sure is way good looking than new one  ...!

GranTurismo looks like a JDM Maserati with after-market mods :eusa_doh: ...!
