Everytime I think Mercedes can't do anything to replace a legendary design they manage to do so. I mean who would ever thought they'd be able to replace the previous CL with such a stunning new car? I can't say enough about this new CL and the Audi R8 for that matter. BMW got smoked at Paris.

For those who have been critical of the new CL design and called it bulky, or even worse...they just got whipped by the CL63 (no pun intended.) I am afraid that the current CL owners who said the 220 was classic just got rammed by the 21st Century.

We disagree but the owner of either model will be a happy camper. My biggest gripe with the 220 CL is the headlights. I had a '98 E Wagon and '03 E320 with those lights and hated the look.

The new CL is overpowering in it's presentation of what the CL should look like...technologically and stylywise it is a gem.

As far as the R8...let me comment that Audi continues to push for some kind of identity on the front of the car and so far has missed in all their models. Like the 4 eyes on the MB, the front of the complete Audi line really does nothing for my senses.

Since this car will never be in my garage...I do agree that my opinion also will not bother anyone on this board...(except maybe the Audi fans)))))

This car is just jaw droppingly georgeous!!!!
IMO after looking at this car then the S63 AMG, the S63 AMG feels like a let down.

That CL AMG is amazing, I think it is probablly my favorite MB.

It looks like a bad ass MF...

Excuse my ignorance toward MB but are the front wheel arches different from the regular CL, is that what makes it look so mean? Maybe not, I should go look at the CL again.

nope nothing on the body is diffrent..its just the aero pack that makes em look more beefy...
