S-Class W126 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL W126 (1991)

The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of passenger cars made by Daimler-Benz AG. It was marketed as the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and manufactured in sedan/saloon (1979–1991) as well as coupé (1981–1990) models, succeeding the company's W116 range. Mercedes-Benz introduced the 2-door C126 coupé model, marketed as the SEC, in September 1981. This generation was the first S-Class to have separate chassis codes for standard and long wheelbases (W126 and V126) and for coupé (C126).
Ah.....those details are what drew me to Mercedes in the first place in 1986 with the 300E. These cars are pure legend.

Watching his reviews of the 560SEL, Phaeton and Maybach 57S have opened my eyes up to to amazing functions and features that top-end luxury cars are equipped with 10-30 years before cheaper cars. Most fascinating is that some of the features never even trickle down to cheaper cars.

Agreed. It's 2018 and the Passat still doesn't have power headrests. Mind you even the W202 C-class had power headrests.

The European spec 560SEL had 272 hp, the U.S spec 560SEL only had 238 hp, no wonder Doug wasn't impressed with the performance.

I had 3 1991 560 SELs in my collection. (i'm down to one now). Mine has 209,000 miles on it and i'm willing to bet its one of the cleanest, best looking, best maintained 560 SELs out there. Everything works, no funny noises when its driven, still drives beautifully smooth and quiet. Amazing engineering and workmanship and an amazing car for its time.

I enjoy Doug's reviews very much as he has highlighted many interesting unique and quirky features some luxury cars and exotic sports cars have.

Still my favorite Benz. Fantastic design, amazingly comfortable to drive ... even today.

Don´t forget: The door panels were conditioned. Look at the video at 3:09. You see how the air will be directed from the center body to the doors. By doing so you have been able to heat or cool the doors!
I loved that feature which never showed up again in the following generations...

Same here. I watch pretty much all his videos from start to finish.
Lol, when somebody says Doug Demuro I always have these funny videos in mind:
