I don't think it will matter since the MB truck isn't going to be sold here in the U.S. in the same manner as the passenger cars and SUV. It will on the commerical side I think with the Sprinter, Metris.

While this point is irrelevant as noted by Merc1, don't forget the Escalade pickup went through 2 generations before ultimately being canceled due to slow sales.

From the press conference and the pics thus far, it certainly looks like this is intended as a mainline Mercedes-Benz product rather than a Sprinter/Freight vehicle.

The concept looks good, let's hope it doesn't get too watered down as it makes its way to production.

The airvents in the center console are ugly af. The rest looks pretty sweet, the frontbumper of the yellow one looks gigantic. A bit too much for my taste.

It's just a huge opening with some plastic around it. It almost looks ridiculous on a sports car. It looks out of place in classic sedans, let alone a pick up!

The car is despicable in many ways but can you blame MB for not giving the pickup market a try? When the SUV market is saturated, Mercedes needs to try something that fellow rivals Audi and BMW haven't attempted. In 2015, Ford sold 780,354 pickups in the US alone. Toyota and other manufacturers probably sell as many each.

Even a 10% market share of the US pickup market by 2020 will be a victory for Dieter Zetsche.
