Comparison tests Motor Trend's 2013 Best Driver's Car

Very interesting. So depsite all the criticisms of the 991's "horrible" steering feel, "unnatural feeling" PDCC, MotorTrend still thinks the 911 C4S is a winner, even though it was clearly not the fastest on track. I believe the 911 C2S won last year's competition too!! Porsche has done well despite all the complaints about the 991 generation.

great SLS B.S.
...someone explain to me why in Japan the Gt-R crashed 458, 12-C and GT2 RS and here cannot beat a Viper...

GT3 is a 2014 car, first deliveries are September outside of Germany

But there are other 2014 model year cars in this test too. As long as car is being delivered to customers this year in whatever market the magazine is, why not include it?

This has been the case since the R32 generation, a stock R34 with 280hp glued right into a 996 turbo's butt on the track

The last customers to get their hands on a GT3 unfortunately are in N.America, I even heard Jan/Feb 2014, maybe I'm wrong  this was the case when GT2 RS was delivered, US customers were the last to take delivery.

Yea, we are usually the last, but I think the deliveries for first batch of allocations in US is in Nov. Or at least that is when few people in RL are expecting their's.

I miss Fiesta ST in this test. Take away Focus ST and replace it with a Fiesta ST.

I'm sorry, but who on earth gives a damn about a Ford, when you got cars like SLS, R8, 911, GT-R... man you got brainwashed or something. I liked you more when you were a Beemer fan boy, not having ST in every of your post...:(

First of all, in a car-nut community like GCF, you can't talk to someone like that, unless you are ok with people saying "who gives a damn about the SQ5 or I don't give a flying f**k about Tumbo's A4. You can disagree in far more polite ways!

Then, this test is about the best driver's car, and last time I checked the definition of a hot-hatch is to provide maximum pleasure to the driver, with a somewhat affordable price. So, a Focus ST, or even a Fiesta ST may not be as fast as an SLS or a GT-R, but it could easily give you an equally huge smile on your face. And that's the point of a "driver's car".

:)

Edit: Giannis said it more politely than I did, so I will leave it at that.

I wont even comment on Tumbo post. He clearly dont know much about drivers cars which this test is actually about. Fiesta ST has already proven in the past what its capable of.

I really really hope you made a bad joke because you post displayed an appalling attitude that is completely unacceptable, both on this forum, and out on the real world. I can say the exact same thing back to you too plus more, and it won't be a good thing for everyone. I hope you realize your mistake and apologies to Just_me.

MotorTrend has always been very bizzare about how they rank their driver's car so it comes as no surprise that the SLS AMG black series got robbed when it clearly seems to be the most exciting car in the bunch.

Here is quote from EVO I want to show you:

"From our list’s most expensive (£1million) to its cheapest (£17,000). You might be able to buy 59 Ford Fiesta STs for the price of a Pagani, but the Italian certainly isn’t 59 times more fun. In fact, on wet, grimy and busy British roads, the Fiesta is more likely to put a smile on your face with its punchy 179bhp turbo engine, slick six-speed gearbox and fun, chuckable chassis. Its our junior hot hatch champion."

That is one pretty odd ranking, the F type above the Cayman and Nissan GTR? E 63 above M6? Viper dead last?

Mercedes has seriously upped their game with the AMG cars. A wagon placing above those other sporty cars??? Never, ever would have imagined that. I really thought the SLS Black Series would win though.

Wow, Viper last? Their CEO is going to be pissed... :D

I haven't read the article, so don't know what their reasoning is to put the Viper even below the Bentley, but I doubt it is a worse 'driver's car' than that (unless you are a 70 year old driver). But after they picked the GTR last year, I don't really give much credence to MT's definition of "driver's car".
