Ok, that sounds good. But is it on par with the Germans like the C, 3er and A4?

On par as in "luxury refinement"?
No, I would not say so. The C and new A4 in particular have gone with a real sense of luxury and refinement. This is not the aim of the Camaro. It is raw and very sporty. The design and materials is better and more modern feeling than the new Mustang. Once you get in an experience you realise it has moved up from the muscle car status. I believe it has a better dashboard design than the Corvette.

The Corvette would be improved if it had a dash design similar to the Camaro I think.

You're right Klier. We've got to give that the Americans. Their cars are really bargains compared to the Europeans. This one and the Corvette are very good examples.

The Corvette has to be one of the best value for money cars in the world, its looks rival many of the best European cars, it really looks fantastic in real life. Then the sound of that wonderful burbly roaring V8 is another thing to enjoy about this car. Maybe the only negatives in my opinion is the interior design and quality and also the cars size it is very wide and quite longish. It doesnt have the compact look of the 911.

Seems like Motor Trend become the leader of American corrupt automotive press, passing Car&Driver and Road&Track.

Corrupt as in, "comparing a BMW M to an American pie Chevrolet?"

This is not Chevys falt as the Camaro is not intended to compete with the M4, yet the numbers are so damn close. I think it shows how good the new Camaro is.

The BMW simply gets crucified on all metrics that are not performance related. Shitty interior, horrible steering feel etc etc. It'll be interesting to see how the C63 Coupe stacks up against the GM metal once it hits market later this year.

I think this review actually hit the nail on the head with all of the M4's deficiencies. BMW put a higher priority on lap times than they did on driver enjoyment.

The Camaro is shockingly good value. The real question here though is, have BMW been resting on their laurels and made a mediocre car - or have the Americans really pulled up their socks and just started making really good cars?

The answer to this, sadly, is both. Kudos to GM for finally making a world beater of a muscle car.

Well, since i live in Brazil and having some respect for myself i have always hated the camaro... Why is that? Well lets say some lousy singers made a song about a yellow camaro and how it changed their lifes because it attracted every kind of attention. Is that necessarelly bad? No, but when u consider the consequence of that song it is bad! The camaro was turned into a simbol of ostentation and new riches (poor people that recently got rich and now have some kind of need to show it off. Oh, and mainly they got rich by singing really crappy, lousy and annoying "songs", not to mention the fact of these "songs" being extremely obscene, and stupid). So yeah, here the camaro was loved by those who want to look like they're something and those who want to show of to everybody. Now this new one really has got me... I mean, Corvette engine? The looks? That interior? Men that thing got me... It even caused me to get into anothet dillema! Between that and the new TT-RS, i camt decide which i would pick!! Not only because of the price, but because of the manual transmission as well, and that interior... Its like part of me wants the Audi, and another part wants the Chevy! How is that even possible?? I mean, i've always been the perceived quality type of guy! What is happening?? When did a comparison between Audi and Chevy became possible???
