Lucid New Lucid Gravity is seven-seat super-SUV to rival Tesla Model X

Lucid Group, Inc. is an American manufacturer of electric luxury sports cars and grand tourers headquartered in Newark, California. Lucid vehicles are designed in California and manufactured at Lucid's factory in Arizona. The company was founded in 2007. Since April 2019, Lucid has been majority-owned by Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia.
This ticks all the boxes to be the best large SUV in the US: A three row one.

It has alot going for it and I don't doubt that price and trims will match the Air. A few things stand out.

The tail gate is cavernous. You could probably load a baby elephant into the car with ease. A 1,900lb pay load capacity and a flat load floor will make it possible to use the car as a workhorse. I particularly like that the third row seats fold flush into the load floor.

Proportions might be a touch too close to the R-Class of the past. However the design is nothing short of sophisticated and fuss free. I like it more than the EX90 and EQS SUV.

Well done Lucid!

Late 2024 launch will hopefully be a better timing than this financial quarter during which there EV scepticism.

One of the best looking EV SUVs ever.

... and now we go live, to a demonstration of just how low that bar is set...

Amazing job, design, tech and software.
That range!
I’m very happy for them. I hope they will be able to meet the demand, the preorders will be a blast.

Together with the Rangee and EX90 it’s the best looking SUV IMO.

SUVs are not my thing, but looks great.

It gives me some faint Renault Espace vibes, which is a bit funny, as the Lucid Air reminds me a tiny bit of Renault Vel Satis. May be someone at Lucid's design department likes the works of Le Quément.

I can't agree, then it would look a bit like the iX, which would not be a good thing.

How could the design be improved on?

That's not to say it's particularly ugly, but if we're talking BEV EV's, I can't really think of one that looks particularly good, so being better than others isn't a massive achievement. The Gravity, for me, suffers the same problem as the Air - it starts alright at the front, then gets worse the further back you go.

In a world of iXs , Model Xs and EQS SUVs , yea , the bar was already really low

XM isn't a BEV so I FTFY

Lucid is making a huge mistake by comparing it to a 9 years old car. As any other internet dude that does that is making a huge mistake.

Model X is no competition to anyone right now. Old and obsolete

Agree. Not even Musk cares about the model X. The Falcon door theatrics are long gone forgotten.

The rear might looks a bit over designed with the aim or reducing visual bulk. Overall, there aren't many practical EVs that have nailed the rear design.

Half the price and charges faster. It’s also good looking.
