There is something quite classic about the look of the new CL ...it is ever-so-slightly retro ..don't you think? ....it reminds me of several different old Mercedes coupes ...but still looks fresh and new ...I have no doubt this car is going to be a huge success for Daimler-Chrysler.

For me, the only objection is that, in the picture of the rear, the lighting makes the CL look a bit blobbish. A different colour, different lighting, or a better camera might fix all of that.

Overall, it looks good.

It seems so far 90% of the released pictures have been white (alabaster or mystic) with 10% iridium silver on the AMG's and the remainder black, on the test mules. What do you think looks best, most complimentary, so far? I think the "lines" show better on the lighter colors, and the CL appears to stand out more, in a crowd. On the other hand, the darker colors, Black Opal and pure black look so "mean" and "powerful". Besides your "favorite" colors in general, what's best for the new CL ????

As usual, white is the nicest, and opal black, and also the dark metallic grey's. There is also this dark metallic blue color MB has used that is beautiful in person.

My personal fav's. I think it will looks best in all those colors...

CL 600 with AMG-Sportpackage

I would choose germanitgrey or flintgrey.

Interieur: I don't know Saharabeige or Cognacbrown!?

I think medium-dark silvers are good colours to display the contours better.

Pretty boring and common, perhaps, but works ok. Otherwise you can add hues to the silver, such as beige silvers, blue silvers, or otherwise.

Thanks to MBH mbworld.org who took these pics at the AMGfest at MBUSA headquarters in Montvale, NJ, this weekend,

Awesome! Can't wait to see one on the streets...

Now I'll just wait for someone to start b****ing about the rims and the orange reflectors in the headlights.

Is is actually legal to change those orange reflectors ...are they not US regulation by law?

Those rims however ....WHY WHY WHY?

I think it's illegal to change them, but some people do change 'em anyway. It's not enforced I guess.

As for the rims, I don't know if you've seen those rims on a W221 in real life yet, but they are pretty nice if you ask me.

I don't know if it's just me, but I always like the rims MB puts on their cars. It bugs me when people switch rims from one model to another. I've seen a W220 with a W211 rims, a W140 with W220/W221 rims, and a W211 with W220 rims. They all look awkward.
