Whats this - Available petrol engines: BMW 114i (102 hp)
This is something I find very difficult to believe. The press release says it's the N13 1.6l turbocharged engine, but it only makes 102hp. That's exactly what VAG's old 1.6 NON-FSI engine produced like 10 years ago. And even if it is indeed turbocharged, what is the boost pressure?

Really don't see why you wouln't believe this press release?
And next time, compare fuel consumption and co2 with that VAG block, too ;)

Btw, I'd rather have seen M135i instead of 114i.....LOL!

Because a 1.6l gas engine doesn't need a turbocharged to produce those figures. Also, if you look at the press release, the fuel consumption figures for the 114i and the 116i are identical. Where's exactly is the 14i more efficient than the 16i?

I am pleased to comment the pictures make it look sexy , sleek and ultra-modern but also very premium exactly like when you see it in the flesh.

Is Just me convinced yet?

114i is for people who buy it for the badge. Alot of debadge on the way.

It's for VW Golf buyers willing to stretch their monthly payments to the far edge. I can't say I expected a 114i. Could we see the same engine in the 3-Series or would it simply be too weak?

Sexy? I know it's good to throw adjectives abound at products from all ends in a marketing aspect, but is this thing even supposed to be sexy? A compact Hatch with a nose like that I'd imagine is supposed to fill other descriptions even from those who like or love it, but I wouldn't imagine (nor hope, considering the outcome) that "sexy" was a direction by the designers. A 6-Series Coupe on the other hand by its very nature and execution clearly was intended to have sex appeal.

This is one of BMW's ugliest creations to date. Wouldn't be caught dead in it! Hideous front, VW Polo rear.. No engine could make it appealing for me. Hopefully the 2 Series will be much sexier.

Impressive rear passengers get air vents, but that's basically the only impressive thing on this car. One of the ugliest of all-time from essentially every angle, though the 3 door I think looks better than the 5 door.

everything is sexy and everything until the pictures show even the slightest bit of the front.
rear lights are acceptable, but probably a joke next to the new A3.

To be honest though, it looks a tad better IRL, the front doesn't look as crap as in pics probably because of the higher angle our eyes look from, but still crap. Why does that sketch looks so nice and the real thing looks like a dog.

And the X1 doesn't! I can just LOL:mad:

What were BMW thinking by not adding rear air vents to the 1er families SAV!?!?! DUH:rolleyes:
