I hope you had a great time. I chose the island of Tinos this summer, and not one day did we not have a wind of 7 Beaufort. We traveled light, opting for the wife's Yaris instead of my untrustworthy E39 and it was a good idea.

Great time, thanks. We have another holiday booked for next April. Flying from London to Athens this time, however. Going to pick up a rental car at the airport and drive to where we're staying at Navarino Bay on the west coast of the Peloponnese.

Tinos I'd never heard of, but just Googled it and it looks quite underdeveloped, which I like.

I guess you're staying at Costa Navarino, then. Probably the best hotel of the whole country. Around that time hit me a message and I can recommend a few places around there that are worth visiting. I've been all around that area and I've spend many summers there. Actually, it's a 3h drive from where I live. We could finally meet up in person!

Yes, Costa Navarino.

I'd be up for meeting up at some point! We could meet each other halfway or something. I thought you lived near Thessaloniki for some reason.

Incomparable. The E60 is a design statement and a work of art by Chris Bangle, which could go back to the market as a new car right now (with a few minor updates).

Hell, I still twist my neck if I see an E60.
For G60 I twist my neck too, but the other way.

E60 on average is like 700 kg lighter than an i5

E60 was penned mainly by Davide Arcangeli, overseen by Boyke Boyer and haphazardly slapped-together by several others after Davide (very sadly) got ill (an later died) in the middle of the process... Chris was the "Big Wig" only "overseeing" the exterior design... did not "create" the E60...!

I nearly vommited every time I've seen the E60 with "standard" rims/wheels at FIZ +/- 2002 and around the production site at Dingolfing 2022/2023 before the public launch... (... drove several, mostly with the very boring plain black leather interior with "aluminum" decor... FACEPALM... it had to be at least saddle-brown leather to distract a little from the very ugly and uninspired dashboard and cardboards...)

E61 (Touring) saved the day later on a little bit with a more harmonious back and C- and D-Pillar Solution... the only "decent" looking way to have an E60 was the M5...

A "basic" 520i/523i/525i/520d/525d was always totally "off" with a very strange stance due to disproportional wheel arches "half-empty" due to "too small" 16" rims... (Trapzestyling 134, Sternspeiche 115...) ... even 17" have been looking "off" and "not enough", still...

The track was completely wrong in ratio to the bodywork width from the very beginning and you "needed" the M5 rims/tires combination to make up for that flaw at any time.

And then you see this. Horrible cab forward look. Looks like a FWD vehicle.

Drove 400 through The Netherlands yesterday.

Roughly 25 5ers on the road, 1/3 of therm being a Touring.

Literally ZERO E classes. Almost frightening how poor that thing is doing here. Anecdotal for sure, but I have not seen it like this any time before.

A friend of mine has the new i5 M60.
Range is only 290 km (winter in Germany). Apart from that, he loves his car.
For a € 100.000 car 290 km range is inadequate, to put it mildly. It only shows that BEV in general and this i5 M60 in particular, in this aspect are inferior products compared to their ICE counterparts. The average customer knows and refuses to buy.

Also anecdotal, but I seem to be sighting very few new cars in my region AT ALL. The economic recession and consumer skepticism in Germany is becoming more palpable by the day, it seems.

It's not. that one doesn't see any W214 at all, but, indeed, I confirm your observation that one sees a lot more new BMW 5 series than new Mercedes-Benz E-class on Dutch roads.
