4 Series [Official] 2020 BMW 4 Series (G22)

The BMW 4 Series is a range of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since 2013. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series.
The things one has to read are amazing, the stubbornness that has no limits even in the face of facts.
Since two or three here don't like it, it can't be true that it sells so much, the universe is wrong.

"Sales not determining tastes in this segment" hilarious, very scientific.

Unless you go deeper into the data, there is very little you can conclude as to the *reasons*. Off the top of my head, positive sales figures could be:

* Poor competition
* Increased discounting
* Improved dealer network
* Top of the class handling and economy

You can't just conclude "ah, people DO like the new grill". You can't even say "people are buying the 4er DESPITE the new grill", because you have zero idea as to how many have simply ruled the 4er out on looks alone and sales figures could have been even bigger! The only way you could draw conclusions as to how the new grill affects sales is to have a "control" grill, and then give people the option.

To think what you think shows an incredible amount of naivety and a fundamental lack of understanding of how people make purchasing decisions, and how to understand sales figures, or indeed ANY data at a scientifc level.

For the record I like the 4er grill. But even if I didn't, it wouldn't put me off buying one. What world do you live in where people only purchase items that they think are 100% perfect? I love my iPhone, but there are things I don't like about it. In fact, most of the cars I've owned aren't 100% perfect. What you're saying is that anybody buying a 4er is completely happy with the grill, which is highly unlikely.

Why? Cause people buy it? What will people buy instead? The ancient A5? The CLE? No chance.

The front remains much worse than the 8er one. Most of my friends who have owned a 3er Coupe or a 4er, believe the front of this car is silly. So, besides the tipical brand warriors on the internet boards, I believe there is a wide consensus about the car’s looks.

The direction where BMW’s exterior design is heading tells you what went wrong with this car’s design.
Coming from my e92, the B9 A5 is drop dead gorgeous.

some late model German coupes that I salivate over

1. W126 SEC
2. E31 8er
3. E46 M3
4. C215
5. C216
6. E92
7. B8 A5
7. C238
8. C217
9. B9 A5
10. Bentley GTCs

I don’t know much about global sales but I can vouch that at least in the US the i4 GC is selling quite well.

Maybe it is. I believe the G22 is.

The point I'm making is that correlating improved sales with one particular aspect of the car shows a complete lack of understanding of how to study data, which dalab seems oblivious to. It's not even a complicated concept to understand. It's basic common sense. However, in a world where opinions are treated as facts, it's no surprise people double-down when they're so obviously wrong.

Nope, they are all, from the GC, i4, through the coupe and the convertible, to the M4, which is the second best-selling sports car in the world after the M3, which is the first (which I think has the same grill), go check the official figures, try Not to mention me, since you're probably right, they are best sellers because of the huge discounts, which didn't even happen nor is it real, but your opinion outweighs reality, let's leave it there.

Even his handwriting of the number is ugly

go check the official figures,

Why? I'm not even disagreeing with you. I believe the 4er is selling very well. Again, you misunderstand what you read sometimes. Just because I say I believe the G22 is selling well, it doesn't mean I don't think other models aren't too.

You seem to let what you *think* people are saying influence how you respond to them. I actually like the 4er grill. I even owned a G80 M3, but whether I liked the grill or not played no part in the decision to buy one.

You don't even read posts properly. I don't *have* an opinion on why the 4er is selling well because I don't have enough data. All I can do is guess, which counts for nothing. But that's all you can do too. You can't just look at sales figures and then make a giant leap that it validates one single aspect of the car. That you're still failing to grasp this point is both baffling and tiresome.

It's as ridiculous as thinking everybody who buys an iPhone likes iTunes (I don't) or that anybody who buys a Taycan thinks the range is sufficient (it isn't). In dalab's world everybody who buys a 4 Series likes the grill. 🙄

Why are you deleting posts, dalab?

You've just removed a post where you tried to claim I'm misquoting you. Here you are correlating increased sales with validation of the grill.

Saying that is underestimating myself a little, don't you think? I never said that, nor do I think about it, this whole line is such a complete package that it manages to far surpass the previous one and its competitors, within that achievement, the radicalization of the grill I personally believe that it is one of the biggest drivers of its success, whether because you like it or because three years later people are still talking about it, its application in the M3-M4 is simply glorious IMO.

just because you don't like scrutiny.
I fear what they may discover

I wouldn't lose them for all the gold in the world, .....I'm so lonely

This is very different to what you wrote, which was in direct response to Scott suggesting it was *evidence* that people have accepted the design. Had you written what you've just said above in the first place, then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I see that you are very attentive to what I write, perhaps you can allow me to edit? Since my answer is below, I don't see where it says that sales are ONLY for the grill, but I see that you are looking to start a confrontation as always and I'm not, bye bye

You directly responded to Scott saying it was evidence that the grill is acceped by people, by agreeing. You then had multiple opportunities to clarify to myself and other people that you don't necessarily think everybody buying the 4er likes the grill, but you chose not to.

And now you're pivoting to try and save face. Pathetic.

Wow man, always twisted and insulting, you don't last even 5 minutes without attacking, obviously the grill was accepted, it always sold extremely well for that and other reasons IT IS OBVIOUS, how you can believe that people don't just buy the grills but the entire car, it I explained in my previous message, but I think you are in those days....as I said bye bye

You don't have any information as to *why* people bought the car. Period. All you have are sales figures.

That you are still unable to grasp this is quite worrying.
Right, they don't like it, that's why they buy it 👍

He already gave a response that makes sense to this argument.
