Charger [Official] 2015 Dodge Charger

The Dodge Charger is a model of automobile marketed by Dodge in various forms over eight generations since 1966. The first Charger was a show car in 1964. A 1965 Charger II concept car resembled the 1966 production version. In the United States, the Charger nameplate has been used on mid-size cars, personal luxury coupes, subcompact hatchbacks, and full-size sedans.
^Agreed. It might not have the refinement of the German Uber sedans but at $59K, that is a lot of bang for your buck.

I actually made a mistake with that price quote. $59,995 is for the Hellcat Challenger. The Charger Hellcat might be a little bit cheaper, as were the previous SRT versions.
The Hellcat Charger is on the Dodge website. It is said to have more than 120 potential configurations.

I wonder how hard it would be to get one and flip it. I will have to see about this.

M

That is a scary thought. It would probably do all it could to prevent you from flipping it with all the computer nannies onboard.

Americans are back. Keep pushing USA, i like the direction of major US comapnies.

I feel like you feel about the US cars my friend, especially the trucks from GM, Ford and Toyota. That said this Dodge looks a bit soft-FIAT-mixed at the front IMO.
I liked the large menacing front of the previous generation. Maybe this one will appeal to a larger market like...China perhaps.
The Hellcat version looks sick! Most powerful production car!

HUGE HUGE power!! Nearly 100kw more than the E63 AMG S!!! It will be an absolute monster at higher speeds!! Top speed of 328km/h is very fast but I am sure if they had to remove the limiter off the M5 or E63 AMG S they will match this car or be faster! The previous W211 E55 AMG (with 350kW) achieved 318km/h in an AMS track test about 10years ago. With another 80kW of extra power the E63 AMG S should be more than 10km/h faster!

^^^ Old (pre-facelifted) car. That commercial must be years old. Nevertheless, it's a nice commercial. (y)

Dodge Charger Trolls the Volkswagen Passat in Latest Ads

Now that the engineers have done their job, with the 2015 Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat pair having been unleashed upon us, it’s time for the marketing department to start sweating. We’ve already seen a smart piece of trolling from Dodge and now they’re back with more on the same topic.

Dodge just launched two commercials for the Charger. In the process of preaching their performance sedan to the people, Dodge is trolling the Volkswagen Passat.

In fact, they haven’t stuck to simply doing that, they’ve released two commercials that troll the Passat in different ways. The two even share the same footage, only coming with different messages.

Actually, Dodge has used this footage before, also for a pair of commercials - the ones we showed you back in July.

For the job, they used a 2014 Charger R/T Blacktop, which is motivated by a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that churns out 370 ponies. Nonetheless, Dodge does mention you can have the Charger with up to 470 hp. This either means they’re referring to the pre-revamp model, or we may be dealing with another easter egg - the 2015 Charger SRT (non-Hellcat) hasn’t been revealed yet and this could be a hint that the model will inherit the 2014 vehicle’s 470 hp output.

As an amusing coincidence, GM recently took on the Volkswagen Passat, letting the world know the 2015 Corvette, with its 8-speed automatic, is more efficient than the Vee-Dub.

FCA US said Monday that it has halted dealer orders of its 707-horsepower Dodge Hellcat Charger SRT and Hellcat Challenger SRT because it can't keep up with the volume of orders.

Billed as the most powerful muscle cars ever, the Hellcats have drawn intense consumer interest since the went on sale last year, underscoring America's love-affair with big, powerful sports cars.

"Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system," the company said in a statement.
FCA US, the company previously known as Chrysler, did not say when it would be able to resume taking orders.

In February, the automaker publicly chastised dealers for ordering more Hellcats than the actual number of committed buyers.

"Dodge dealers will receive Hellcat scheduling based on their total Dodge sales in the previous 90 days with verified customer sold orders," Gualberto Ranieri, FCA US senior vice president of communications, said in a blog posted Feb. 27. "An isolated number of dealers have taken a far greater number of orders than they could reasonably expect to fulfill under the above allocation system."

Last year, there were rumors last year that the company would only build 1,200 Challenger SRT Hellcats. That was quickly refuted by Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge and SRT.

"We have not capped the volume on the Hellcat Challenger or the Hellcat Charger," Kuniskis said last August.
The automaker said Monday it has received more than 9,000 Hellcat orders since it began taking Challenger orders in September.

The Hellcats are built at an assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, alongside conventional Charger and Challenger sports cars.

The cars were designed to reinforce Dodge's identity as a performance brand as it celebrated its 100th anniversary.

The 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat has a 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. It zooms from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 3.7 seconds and burns through 1.5 gallons of gasoline per minute.

F10 M5 unrestricted runs out of puff at 196mph.

The W212 E63 might not be faster, it all depends on the gearing, with a 250kph limiter Mercedes probably gears them for faster accleration than higher top speed.

Ride the Hellcat! You can see his stripes, but you know he’s clean! Oh don’t you see what we mean? No? To be honest, we never quite understood what Ronnie James Dio was getting at with that line, either. But—we do know that you buyers of Dodge’s beastly duo can now order your 707-hp Charger or Challenger with full-length, carbon-fiber-pattern stripes!

Dodge notes that this creates a “customized-from-the-factory” look, which stands in direct opposition to the customized-at-Autozone look of those other carbon-fiber stripes you’d been eyeing. After all, these are cut to fit the Hellcats’ NACA-duct hood scoops. MSRP is $995, and the stripes can be laid over the following Hellcat hues: Bright White, Redline Red, Pitch Black, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Jazz Blue, TorRed, Ivory White Tri-coat, Maximum Steel, and limited-edition Plum Crazy Pearl Coat.

Speaking of Plum Crazy, the ’70s-tastic shade pulled from the cavalcade of Mother Mopar’s “High Impact” line of colors has enjoyed such popularity that Dodge is extending its stint on the production line for another month. Dodge will be taking orders for the pearlescent purple, originally scheduled to end at the close of 2015, through the end of January. Plum Crazy with carbon-fiber stripes: How can you go wrong?

"Dodge says the 707-horsepower Charger SRT Hellcat is the world's fastest sedan. That's a bold claim, but now the automaker has some proof to back it up.
It recently released video of a Hellcat undergoing high-speed testing, confirming the previously-claimed 204-mph top speed. The test was done on a 7.5-mile oval. Engineers corrected for the wind by averaging speeds recorded along each of the incredibly long straights.

While it wears a bit of camouflage, Dodge claims the car used is a production-ready, final-stage prototype, tuned the same way as cars customers can actually buy. It also uses the same Pirelli tires that are on customer cars—the only all-season tire currently certified for 200 mph, Dodge says.

So how did it do? The Charger actually hit 206.9 mph with the wind, and 202.2 mph while driving against the wind. That averages out to 204.5 mph, meaning Dodge is right and the Hellcat is certifiably insane.

Dodge calls the Charger in SRT Hellcat trim the "quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan ever." In addition to topping 200 mph, Dodge says it will run the quarter mile in 11 seconds flat, and do 0-100-0 mph in under 13 seconds. Still, the company hasn't said how the Hellcat's 0-60 mph time compares to the Tesla Model S P85D's 3.2 seconds.

However, the most remarkable thing about the Charger SRT Hellcat may be that you can actually buy one of these supercar-shaming sedans right now. The $63,995 starting price doesn't even sound unreasonable given the performance available."

That's phenomenal for 2014/2015. I mean it's a "family car" right! No speed limiter bollocks either from what I can very initially gather!
