e-tron GT [Official] Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT is a battery electric executive car produced by Audi since late 2020 as part of the e-tron battery electric sub-brand, and the third fully electric car model, after Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback SUVs. It is also Audi's first full-sized electric sedan, and the RS e-tron GT, put on the market in 2021 is, in terms of 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) times, the fastest Audi sedan to date. Based on the J1 platform shared with the Porsche Taycan, the car went on sale in March 2021.
While I am certainly no FC Bayern fan (save maybe Robert Lewandowski), I like this video. Some cool images of the eTron GT:

Neither Evo nor Top Gear were too impressed with the quality of the interior on the e-tron and RS e-tron. Comments like low rent, A3, detached rubber door seal and rattling speakers were made.

Yes, interior fit-and-finish appears to be an issue with the eTron GT. Unbecoming for an automobile in this price segment, unbecoming for an Audi. As this is being subjected to automotive media scrutiny, I assume that Audi will make efforts to resolve the issue. Something crucial for an automobile that has otherwise been very favourably received.

Interesting... Do you have the quotes?

Audi in general is no longer putting as much effort on interiors as it used to do. But it seems is the new trend not to spend much in interior fit & finish with EVs.

Wonder if the same can be said about the Taycan's interior.

Having been seated in both, I can testify that the fit-and-finish witnessed in the Taycan is superior to that of the eTron GT. In general, the Taycans' interior appears (to me) far better resolved.
Yes, that’s true, fit and finish is fine. The look and feel of used interior materials is sub par, if you ask me.

Not surprising when Tesla is the benchmark. Carmakers now really benchmark Tesla in every aspect, even those which they should not.

Save the bottom half of the B-pillar cladding (which doesn't look and feel as "high quality" as, I imagine, many would have hoped), I found the Taycans' interior impressive. On the eTron GT, exerting a bit of pressure on some of the instrument panel and interior bits gave me the impression of an interior in which the components could have been fastened a bit more tightly. Too much movement and noise. An acquaintances D4 Audi S8 features the interior solidity of a vault.

I wish MB took the quality of Audi’s D4 interior as a benchmark for it’s W223 S- Klasse.

Guess you’re right, I haven’t sat or driven eTron GT that much. My impression of Taycan’s interior, even after several drives (active and passiv) remains the same: below par and far away from a 911 interior.

Cheaply made and makes you anxious... Wow... The Audi of the future sucks.

But, hey that's the future that y'all want, so enjoy it. Have fun getting used to range anxiety and rattles.

Your experiences with the Taycan and eTron GT far exceed mine, I suspect. More or less extensive "seat time" in stationary vehicles sums it up for me. I feel that I get the general gist of the "interior experience", but nothing more really. My "behind-the-wheel" time is...zero, so far.

I actually felt the same way about the Taycan, so no surprise to me that the slightly cheaper e-Tron GT is even worse. I'm still a bit amazed at the Taycan sales rate both here in the U.S. and globally- the rear seat conditions and middling material quality didn't seem like a winning combination to me. Turns out Porsche and its staff know the market very well. :)

Not on me, they're in the fast fleet section of one of the last 2 issues of Evo and the long term part of one of the last two issues of TG. Here's roughly the same TG article online:

"That's not supposed to happen in a 100K BP German super-EV..." is of essence.

Damned right "it's not supposed to happen". As an owner, I'd be quite angry. There are 35K Euro Korean offerings that present superior assembly, fit & finish quality. This sort of thing is simply NOT ON. My country's automobile manufacturers appear to have quite a bit of homework to do. "WAKE-Y, WAKE-Y !!".

Tesla fans must be rejoicing that Germans have to cut costs to be competitive. For me Tesla is a Chinese product from America. I think we can say China has invaded America. Coming to Europe soon.

Automakers have been long since saying they're having to work to make these EVs profitable, with some earlier offerings losing money (see Chevrolet Bolt) on every unit sold. I think (and hope) this next crop of EVs will have a better interiors as desired profit margins become easier to achieve.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
