I'll have you know that ...
With its specially tuned M Sport suspension and Torsen limited-slip differential, the exclusively front-wheel-drive compact sports model has an unwavering focus on providing highly engaging driving pleasure.

... so there.

There's the problem. Not a fan of the red "surrounds" either.

Good specs. It will feel more natural and engaging to drive than the M135i.

The front air curtains need to spray painted black as they look a bit kitsch.

Red away, Misanoblue with blue instead of red details.
M135i was a dull drive, pray the lord 128ti is more fun and steering fixed.

It was be more predictable to drive due to the absence of the rear axle engaging and disengaging. BMW are equipping it performance tyres instead of Bridgestone eco tyres.

There are also changes across springs, dampers, bracing, traction control and steering. It is more keen to turn-in than the M135i.

While the M135i is one size fits all performance hatch, it has been criticised for the lack of character. The M128ti is clearly the antidote.

I wonder if BMW plan to offer Ti variants of other cars in their range.

Thankfully the red accents and Ti badging are optional.

I don't think there is such an issue with the AUDI A3/S3/RS3. In both cases the electronics send the maximum amount of power, that can be handled, to the front wheels, with the difference, that with the FWD the excess power is cut, while with the AWD it is being sent to the rear axle. The front axle in both cases is equally loaded (with the AWD the additional weight goes to the rear axle) so I don't expect any noticable change in the front axle road behavior.

"Said to offer a more “unfiltered” driving experience than the 80kg-heavier range-topping M135i"

"Internal exhaust amplification features to further differentiate the 128ti from its lesser-powered counterparts, giving a “richly sporting aural experience for the driver”, according to BMW, without making the car any louder from the outside"
(LOL so stupid, these cars is meant to sound both inside and outside).

I think the front light graphics look better than other 1-series models and I like the wheels but I dont fancy the SMILY Face air intake and red curtain intakes. Engine is the same as the 330i and 530i, but its slower in acceleration than the 330i.

Yeah, it's simply a 330i engine with some red accents. Nothing new.

Not interested in the slightest.

Exterior wise the i30N looks more premium than this. It has to be the econobox proportions of the 1er. It's the other way round when it comes to the interior though.
Eager to see them pit against each other and see how the BMW does against the brilliant Hyundai. IMO the i30N is a perfect representation of how a FWD BMW should drive and feel like and I applaud the man behind it.

It's a nice Focus RS competitor. It's a shame that it came a decade too late...

Oh dear, strange times...
