X5 [Official] BMW X5 (G05)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

Reference thread:

Front looks too much like the X3, interior is great and rear reminds me of previous generation KIA sportage. Would look better in darker colors like the X3.

First the concept cars and now also the camoed cars look better than the actual car. Not that it is bad looking, but based on the spy pictures I had higher hopes for one dynamically looking SAV. Somehow that dynamic is lost, especially from the side.

Outcome is entirely as expected; after months of truculent unveiling, how else could it have turned out?

I think it looks great but then again, I really like the X3 so, why wouldn't I think so? I have to admit, I got a smidgen of Audi-vibe in those rear taillights but for the rest of it - there's precious little to fault. Proportions are good for such a large SUV, there's enough going on with the surface treatment to avoid being slabby (there isn't too much sheetmetal area either) and, as of late, BMW are killing it for me on the interior front. It's the original sporting SUV, continuously improved and it'll do just fine.

BMW does usually get things right when it comes to many of their X offerings (especially X3 and X5. Even the upcoming gargantuan "truck" of an SUV, the X7, promises to be quite good-for what it is).

C‘mon guys ... whenever the family ressemblance topic is brought up with regard to recent MB models, it is played down etc. and, in this case, you think it‘s too much. Sorry, that‘s ridiculous. Of course, X3 and X5 look very similar in front view, but the differences - particularly proportion-wise resulting in much more aggressiveness in the X5 facial expression - are also obvious ...

It looks great. Interior is a tremendous improvement. BMW seem to be upping the interior game. The rear lights just don't feel BMW to me at all, but I'm sure the light graphics will emphasise the L-design. Can't wait to hear about engines - will they bring the M50i from the 8?

Does have the Kia look to it in this pic .. Just my opinion.

Overall its nice BMW X5 has been always a great car or SUV this one is I think more of a evelotion and does have X3 similarity but then again all Germans doing the same including MB so no point denying it that's how the industry is in terms of German cars at the moment.

The interior is nice but I think they needed to do more. I actually think the touch screen to speedo looks better done or integrated in the 5 series this one looks bit unfinished.

Their should now be a official thread

Man this one is a winner. With the X5 already being the leader, and with such a short lifecycle, BMW is on a roll in a very profitable segment...gj

Only negative, personally, not for sales, is the strong resemblance to the X3. I know this is the strategy for most manufacturers now but I don't like it much. It's becoming a sea of sameness.

In my opinion, this looks 10 times better than the F15 which I didn`t liked at all exterior wise but I really think that it could`ve looked better. I was expecting more, an agressive design, the best looking suv in the world but this is not the case. Long and gone are the days of E53 and E70 which looked 10 times better than F15 and now Gxx (03 ??). I think that the new GLE can beat this honestly. I don`t like the way too similar with the X3 front and the rear looks too revolutionary for the X5, it`s like you can`t recognize one of legendary suv which I`ve always felt that it is the X5 in his segment in the automotive industry. Anyway I can give it a 8.50/10.
