The car industry has really been fond of announcing their announcements lately. Hopefully the lap is worth all the build up.

It should be much faster. I expect ring time around 6:45 with extreme Cup 2 R or similar tyres.

6:45 is realy quick! I bet from 6:50 to 6:55.

I say between 6:57-6:59 for the 20.8km layout.

Their original target, if people remember, was to be faster than the GT3RS, which is 6:49. Now, though, they are saying that the target was only "sub-7". So between 6:50 and 6:59 is probably a safe guess. Even if it's slower than the RS, it's still gonna be faster than the standard GT3, and probably faster than some other, older, but much more exotic cars, like the Performante, the Aventador SV, or the 918.

Anything better than 6:50 would be amazing. Anything worse than 7:00 a major disappointment.

I will hold them to their public expectation for the car:

JWW: This is a platform that's designed to be the answer to a GT3 RS or an AMG Black Series.

Larry Holt: I think the GT3 RS wouldn't get anywhere close to this. I mean, in the end, it won't. Because it just doesn't have the power. We got all the aero and we got power on top.
Black Series presently holds... Well that's not true, the AMG One (which we were heavily involved with) holds the production lap record at the Nordschleife. 6:35, which is smoking fast. I don't know if we get there, but we sure would get to the Black Series' time.

JWW: It'll definitely be a sub seven...

LH: The days of: "we got under a seven", that's like... that don't mean anything anymore. 7 Nordschleife time - easy street. But now, 6:30 is like that.
So, anyway, we're going to be in that mix. We'll be right there with the Black Series. Obviously we're not going to get past the AMG One. We don't have a Formula 1 engine in it. But it's going to be very very credible time around there.

So it's gotta put down comfortably faster lap time than the RS. Whatever lap time they got, I just hope they didn't get screwed by the weather.
