Polestar 1 [Official] Polestar 1

The Polestar 1 is a 2-door plug-in hybrid sports car marketed by Polestar, a brand of Volvo Cars. It was the first car produced by the company since becoming an independent car manufacturer in June 2017. Based on Volvo's Concept Coupé from 2013, the Polestar 1 is built on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture platform and is powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a front-mounted engine and two electric motors at the rear. A limited production run of 1,500 cars took place over three years, from 2019 to 2022. Production took place in Chengdu, China, where the company's first production facility was built.
I think the high price of the Polestar 1 is perhaps a reflection of it's low, limited production volume. And as far as the powertrain goes, this concept goes back to 2013 doesn't it? Perhaps if they'd have launched it at the time, rather than waiting 5 years, it wouldn't seem so out of its depth.

I'd forgotten about this the follow up concept...

Yes, this is better looking IMO, and it probably has a bigger boot....

Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is the other way around - CF chassis and the complex drivetrain made it super expensive to manufacture, and they knew they couldn't sell many at that price, so limited the production. Anyway, given they are not sold out (at least here), I doubt being limited has any real meaning/value for now.

Yea, I find it far more appealing with out the awkward C pillar.

Please look up the meaning of Grand Touring car before you come back to this forum....
I have looked it up for you, from wikipedia:
A grand tourer (GT) is a type of sports carthat is designed for high speed and long-distance driving, due to a combination of performance and luxury attributes.[1] The most common format is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive two-door coupé with either a two-seat or a 2+2 arrangement. Grand tourers are most often the coupé derivative of luxury saloons.
The term is a near-calque from the Italian language phrase gran turismo which became popular in the English language from the 1950s, evolving from fast touring cars and streamlined closed sports cars during the 1930s.[2]

I myself have a BMW Grand Turismo, this is a roomy family car, not a Grand Turismo like in the common definition even if BMW calls it a GT. Bentley Continental GT, BMW serie 8 coupe, Aston Martin DB11 are typical Grand Turismo cars.

But still too heavy. It should just a have been a C90, with more efficient, lighter PHEV/HEV powertrain, and a more attainable price to compete against RC 300h which lacks in performance.

...and I'll say it again...and again. One of the most beautiful current automobiles available. Simply epic.

Next to the Porsche 992s, no 2 door, everyday usable, automobile is, to me, more desirable. Polestar in general is a brand to watch-with some very exciting automobiles on the horizon.

This Polestar is a really good looking coupe and it reminds me of the Volvo S90 but with 2doors.
