They should have done the G thing and updated the Everything but keep the exterior.

JLR don’t have the financial luxury of developing expensive halo cars that sell in low volumes.

I think the new Defender looks great. The two tone version will have amazing presence in person.

The high levels of customisation will make it a nightmare for sales people to explain.

Features I find very cool are:

-Full height boot partition
-Accessories such as wheel arch protection and scuff protection for wing mirrors and the corners of the car.

I'm surprised by the base price of this Landy. 35 k Pounds is roughly 40 k Euro and this is with the VAT. Really impressive.

On the UK website, the starting price for the 110 is £45,000. £35,000 must be for the 90 which I can't see in the configurator.

These are just base prices. After packs and options, the 110 will cost roughly between a Velar and an X5/GLE/Q7. If you want a 6 cylinder engine, the price gets bumped up remarkably.

@KiwiRob - I'm about to pull the biggest about-face in the history of this forum. And, no, it won't be happening in the 4er Concept thread.

Let's talk!

I can understand that the concept 4er is a dog.

This Defender is absolutely brilliant isn’t it. It ticks all the boxes, they’re making commercial versions, consumer versions, and I guess somewhere down the line there will be military versions, I’m betting it will kill off the Discovery. Who would want a Disco when the 110 is so much more vehicle.

I think it’s amazing, the 110 has jumped to the top of my must have SUV’s list, it’s a shame I’m in Norway because I would really like to own one, probably more than any other car in recent times.

Now all they need for a pickup version.

You know, I really like it but at the same time if you told me this styling had been finalized in 2006 I would be tempted to believe you. It really reminds me of LR3 era Land Rover styling.

I think the new G is a failure, it has no purpose anymore, its now a car for rich men’s WAGS.
Well no one really cares what you think as it stands at 18-20 month waiting time for all variants right now.

There is your opinion and then there is reality.. 2 vastly different things.

I can imagine this car must have a huge options list for all the customization items. I will have a look at the UK site to check. Interested to see what colour options they have for the interior and exterior.
