Google maps nav is probably the best system out there, but to be fair to the ID3, if someone asked me to tell them where "High Street" was in Rugby, I wouldn't be able to tell them, and I worked there for decades. Turns out "High Street" is one the pedestrian areas that I've walked along hundreds of times... TIL!

My local VW dealership has 2 ID 3s' featured in its' showroom. I had a look at them today and must say that I'm left pleasantly surprised (while not really "Blown Away"). The interior fit and finish seemed considerably better than I had expected (I was expecting crap). Its' exterior design is beginning to appeal to me. And it doesn't look like a "small car" at all. Quite wide as well as tall.

Hmmm, to me it looked surprisingly compact, almost smaller than a Golf.

Can't comment on the interior, though.

It is quite tall. And the distance between front and back wheels is longer than in a Golf. So it looks compact (and probably is), but the interior is larger than in a Golf. Good for tall drivers.

The Golf VIIIs' overall length exceeds that of the ID 3 by some 24mm. The ID 3 is, however, some 20mm wider and 100mm(!) taller.

Having seen the ID3 a few times I think the proportions are very good. It looks very good in Nardo grey and the proportions strike a good balance between the present and the future.

It's everywhere already over here.

Seems to be off to a good start over there. (Year to October figures)

... and as for the rest of the EV's I could think of over there ...

edit: Ooops! Ignore the Citroen Berlingo!

Yes, it's quite amazing how relatively common ID 3s' are becoming on German roads. The ID 4 is positioned to become an even larger smash sales hit.

Seems the new Golf is using more cheap plastic in the interior, and it seems ID3 also has this problem. What is VW doing? Their material selection whas one of the things that made them stand out of the competition

Cost reduction on every level. The panel gaps of the ID3 are similar to those of the Model 3. So Tesla is closing the quality gap faster than expected (due to the worsening of the quality of its competitors).

This is going to be industry-wide. A lot of money has been spent on starting EVs at these companies, but Tesla has also shown that build quality and interior materials/finishes don't really matter anymore... It's a shame...

Why pay for build quality when the technology is advancing so fast, the car you buy will be worthless in 3 years anyway.... I guess ‍☹️

Very positive review. I hope the interior gets more polished with the second gen. It really looks cheap on almost every area.

The inevitable after effect of Diesel Gate.
Many here said it would happen.
Some Audi’s including high end models are absolutely shocking.
No longer the benchmark in quality which quality standards were measured against.

Further to the above Dutch numbers (I wish everyone would publish data like the RAI Vereniging)...

Looks like a tight finish at the moment between the ID3 and all of Tesla...
