Hello all! Thought I'd share the joys of Porsche ownership with you guys. I had the itch for a new car for a while and figured what better than getting back into a 911. Took a couple of drives and the 4s didn't feel like it had enough soul. Stepped into the gts and felt like it reminded me more of my 997s. Love the loud noises at idle that all 911s should have imo. I was a little concerned about the driving comfort in the ny/nj area but that's been allayed. The ride height is lower than a regular pasm s of course but I never feel like I'm worried about scraping or get too jarred by undulations on the roads. On the highway it just cruises along and soaks up the miles in a way my 997 would not. Plus in the cabin it's quiet enough where I can make calls without issue. I still am not a huge fan of all the pops and farts from the exhaust that the naturally aspirated cars did not need. Overall a great package that preserves the soul but moves the game on in terms of usability. With the ring times it does the Fact that I can still putz around NYC without hassle says it all. The color is night blue metallic. The only change I am making is putting the model designation back on the car. I was back and fro but felt like the back looked too bare without it. Anyway I ramble thanks for reading. Any questions - shoot!

That's a gorgeous shade of blue. Congrats, you lucky fella!

Looks fun! Keep it Happy!

..

Gotta say, the directional wheels not being symmetrical would bug the crap out of me though.

Tastefully spec'd as always with your cars.
Looks amazing! Enjoy it in good health!
What did you enjoy the most about the GTS that you found lacking in the S ?

Congrats and awesome color and car. I notice the red seat belts (extra points for that). Did you spec and order it or found it at a dealer ready to go ? Do consider swapping out the orange reflector for the clear ones. That's the first thing I did on mine (not a GTS but a simple 991.2). Is it a manual or PDK ? Wishing you good weather and many happy miles !

Thanks appreciate that! It's hard to put a finger on it really it just felt more special overall versus the 991.2 4s. Def enjoyed the better power band and sound I'd say those were the 2 main things. Handling at the limits not as big an issue for me since I drive like a grandpa believe it or not. But the missing ingredient for me was "soul" of course this is intangible and subjective so that's just me.

Thanks so much. I actually scooped it up off the lot. Jumped on it Bec it was almost too good to be true how it was specced the way I wanted it anyway. It's a pdk although I would not have minded a manual since I've driven and enjoy that as well. Will swap out the reflectors for sure. Thanks again!

Congrats. The 991 platform is great. More stable than the 997 given the longer wheelbase, yet has higher handling limits too in general. I'm sure your GTS would make a great daily driver which is still very sporty and VERY FAST.

Interesting point of view regarding your love of the loud noises at idle, yet you are not a fan of the noises that come from naturally aspirated engines......many people feel the opposite of what you describe.

A little misunderstanding. What I meant is that the nat aspirated engines did not imo need the extra special effects from the exhaust since the sound was so satisfying to being with. Thanks! Yes it does have that dual nature I love in cars.
