911 (991) Porsche 911 (991.2) Facelift - Spy Pics & Info

The Porsche 991 is the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, produced from September 2011 to December 2019. It was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September as the replacement for the 997.
^Yes, I don't get SRB either - but it sounds a lot like it uses a jumpy throttle mapping to hide lag, which doesn't sound too appetizing.

Also read somewhere it uses BMW style synthesized sound, not sure how true.

I find it SRB to be a turn off. Why should a driver have to press several buttons for his Porsche to behave like a Porsche. I think SRB will work by keeping the engine at slightly higher revs so that the turbo is spooling fast enough for the power to be delivered the second you floor it. This will off course, have an affect on fuel consumption.

My F30 320d work in a similar fashion that I need to put the engine in Sport and the Gearbox in Sport mode for it to feel as fast and responsive as you would expect a BMW to.

Queue the resale value of 996s climbing in 3.........2.........1

It seems the Turbo is once again looking worse than the previous version. Sad...

Where are the C2 and CS2 models without central exhaust, black diffuser and holes in the flanks of the bumper?

There is leaked pictures available now but I do not know if it is an actual car or a fibre glass model since it is attached to a piece of sculpture vertically.

Hopefully we get to hear the new turbo charged flat-6 soon. Based on the automobilemag review , it seems pointless to rev it any higher than 5000rpm beyond which it seems the torque curve bottoms out. I like the nip and tuck treatment and the subtle interior improvement are much welcome. But again, waiting for official release
