Porsche GT4!

Well, I hate Sunny. And Sayaaf. And Soup :(

Congrats Sunny, superb garage....the side by side pics are just porn. Would love to see the whole trio, with the M3

Woaah!! First of all, congratulations! I didn't expect this, as I presumed you are very happy with your 997.2 GT3. Are you planning to keep all 3 of your cars?.........if you do, I fully support another crazy person, as that's exactly what I have done....haha.

The GT4 is a great car especially given it's relatively cheap price point. How in the world are you going to decide which P-car to drive from day to day? Both are stick shifts, both have N/A flat 6 motors, both are 2 seaters, and both have big wings at the back!!

At least I can justify my 3 cars by saying they are all different in terms of engine configuration, transmissions, driving feel, and body type...haha. Would love to hear your thoughts about your rationale, and your eventual more detailed driving impressions.

Congrats Sunny, the GT4 looks awasome, the GT3 even better :)!!.
More pictures and driving impressions please.

Thanks guys for all the wishes. Appreciate it and the good fortune of owning two dream cars.

Btw do you still have the M3? Do you have a daily driver car?

I do. The M3 is still my wonderful daily that I very much enjoy. The only sad part is, it is now parked street side :(. But considering how daily-able I found the GT4 to be, I do plan on using it more regularly, at least in fair weather.

Would love to hear your thoughts about your rationale

Ha, I think rationale went out the window long back :). No, besides the fact that between the NA and the manual, they are a dying breed, I have none. The two does drive very differently though. Like I said, the GT3 feels like a race car, everything is very raw and heavy - you feel every vibration and road imperfection. The GT4 on the other hand is a very usable but also toss-able fun sports car. Even my completely non-car friends are stricken by how different the two feel even from the passenger side.

Congrats Sunny!

That's one of the hottest colors I've seen on a modern P car.

Tell us more about the gear ratios while driving inside the city.

Next up should be a Cup car or Manthey RSR.

Tell us more about the gear ratios while driving inside the city.

I haven't pushed it yet, but driving at normal pace, the gearing feels fine. One plus I noticed is, you can shift down to 1st easily, making it actually an usable gear while driving, not just taking off from rest.

One key thing I enjoy in my M3 is rowing through the gears and shifting near redline, existing a ramp. In the GT3, you can hardly do it cause because it accelerates so frantically, you have to back off in no time. Classic case of "it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow"! Hoping the GT4 is a little better in this regard.

Take it to the track Sunny.......there, you can enjoy the full capability of your cars. Every straight, you can take your engine to redline before upshifting and hear/feel the glorious engine at its best!

By the way, have you driven your GT3 on the track yet?.......I don't recall you ever saying......

^PC, yes, I plan to take the GT4 to the track after break in. The GT3, I haven't yet for various reasons.

@Sunny first a Moderator on GCF, and now a GT4. Man u made it :p

Congrats bro, really really happy for u man living the dream. I wish everyone here could get a chance owning/building his most desirable car.

Sunny, it's been almost a year since you've gotten the GT4, and I am very curious if you have any further insight. Any quirks? What are the attributes that stand out the most?

Love it! Absolute blast to drive - the best chassis I have ever been in. When I got the car, if a push came to a shove, I would have kept the GT3 without doubt, but not so sure any more. The engine is it's relative weakness in that it feels flat below 4k before it wakes up. The GT3 unit on other hand is a beast, dip the throttle in earnest anywhere and it howls away and scares the living lights out of me. The chassis on the GT4 OTOH is a peach. It will dance to your every whim. Like someone else (Peter Stout - Panaorma editor) put it the engine defines the GT3 experience, but the chassis defines the GT4.

Appreciate the insight. If you were to get rid of the GT3....I'll be honest, I just shuddered at that last phrase....if you were to get rid of the GT3...*takes 3 deep breaths*...if you were to part with the GT3...okay, thought that'd be easier, it wasn't....

Okay, it's like taking a bandage off a hairy chest...if you were to part with the GT3, in the long-run, do you think you'd miss that unique combo which, at heart, is that hero of an engine, or would you long for the sublime chassis set-up of the GT4 that much more?

Honestly, just keep the both 'em! Nobody should be burdened with such a difficult decision! ;)
