Well, nothing's actually happened yet. They're just "evaluating", according to the post. And Porsche never said they would stop producing ICE cars as far as I'm aware. That's why they're investing in synthetic fuels. So, reports that there might be a new ICE SUV by 2030, while also continuing to develop and launch several BEVs, doesn't strike me as a "u-turn" in any way. Just an "adjustment" to the market.

The funny thing in all this "make new ICEVs" thing is, where Porsche (and other German car makers) took a drubbing last year is China -

And a big factor in that (besides China's own economy) is lack of good affordable EVs form Germany. So I am not sure how this "make new ICEVs" mantra even if it is a real thing is going to fix anything.

Any idea why sales have dropped in China?

Previously, buying German cars and French luxury goods were sign of success. Is there nationalism going on with pride in buying local or are local ev incentives so strong that's its foolish to buy German?

I like the paint color, the Pasha interior, and the wheels, but, damn, Porsche has over-extended itself with this one by charging that price. It was bound to happen.
