Poll Rolls-Royce Dawn vs Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet

Here is a comparison between the RR Dawn and the S-class cabriolet.
Which would you chose?

The Rolls is certainly magnificent ......but it's a little too "Kim & Kanye" for me.

I'll have an S65 Cabrio thanks

....but I am famously inclined to change my mind on these things

Both will do their job well but the Rolls-Royce exudes a class and status the S-Klasse will never reach. As does the Mercedes against the Rolls-Royce in terms of power and performance. But neither would be concerned The S-Klasse is for a totally different client.

Functionally, I'd choose the Mercedes over the Rolls definitely.

But what is "function" in this rarefied space of the automotive world? To drive with pleasure or to be seen with envy?

For me, it will be the Rolls Royce.

I agree with you. Both are undoubtedly destined to be bought almost exclusively by nouveau-riche owners ......these are cars to be seen in, they tell the world that you've "made it" .....neither is discreet or modest.

The Merc will appeal to lovers of technology and superior German engineering while the Rolls' expresses an entirely more romantic and celebratory quality.

The Rolls for me, by a nose.

The Mercedes is easily the better car (technically), but the Rolls is simply more car.

They both have to die for interiors, the Rolls looks better from all angles in all pics. Some angles catch the Benz out and make it look awkward. The S also needs the AMG Sports pack or needs to be the S63 AMG model to look just right, the Rolls is good as is. As much as the Benz is stunning, the Rolls is just a tad bit moreso. If it were my garage the solution is to simply have a S65 or S63 convertible for certain occasions and the Rolls for others.

Both look stunning. Very different as well, which is nice. The Merc looks sporty and ready to go, the RR elegant. Only thing I don't like in the Benz are those round vents. I just don't like it sorry.

Both cars are fantastic looking with best in the world interiors but appeal to different tastes. The RR is a more prestigious, noble and more rich, while the S class convertible is the more sportier, dynamic looking car brimming with state of the art luxuries technology.
