Phantom Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé

Rolls-Royce has used the Phantom name on full-sized luxury cars and limousines since 1925, making it the longest used car model nameplate in automotive history. In the 20th century, the Rolls-Royce Phantom was a very low volume, hand-built limousine, which in its first four generations was custom coachbuilt to the customer's requests, and sometimes extravagant desires. Whilst automobile manufacturing over time became more mechanised and prolific, and vehicles from other manufacturers could be built in greater numbers and at lower prices, the Phantoms remained hand-built, and production of individual cars only began once the order was placed. The use of the name "Phantom" is a long tradition of naming Rolls-Royce models after ghosts or spirits.

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

Looks pretty nice, but being a RR shouldnt there be more room in the back since these are chauffeur cars afterall.

I think the droptop would definitely be a driver's car - if one were to buy a chauffeured RR, he would buy the limousine.

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

Being it that this car is based off of the Phantom which is quite a roomy car (I can speak for myself having climbed in all four seats, and it swallowed me whole, I'm 6'5"). There is probably just a tad less room in the back than in it's sedan counterpart. Also keep in mind that RR is more a drivers cars now than ever before, thanks to BMW.:D

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

hmm is this the production version..
im not really diggin this.. i need to see more pics and diffrent colours..
to me it looks very boring from the rear..and the front is somewhat akward for a roller as the grill leans back..
love the doors.. and im not exactly a fan of the wood behind the seats..looks like a boat..
cool led lamps though..

PS
For now my choice would be the Bentley Convert rather than this.. but ile have to wait and see

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

The RR Drophead kills the CGT convertible.

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

im not talking about the CGT convert..that is not a bentley to me..its a bastard..haha
im talking about the Azure

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

im so glad these were posted before i went on vacation:D :icondrool
This turned out so good even though im not liking the wood behind the seats so much
This car will RULE i tell you

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

I like the wood as the convertible cover, very original idea and well done to say the least.

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

I like the wood also but if this car is going to be a drivers car like someone said earlier they need to update the dash.

And after looking at the pictures some more it looks like the rear is actually pretty roomy at least compared to other drop tops.

A Roller will always be a Roller, but who says a Roller can't be fun to drive???

The wood is quite unique -- I wonder if it will be optional.

Also, I am curious about the A pillar/windscreen -- it looks like the solid aluminum one on the 100EX concept.

I agree with The Artist, I will wait to see some other colours and more details before I can say whether I really love it or not.

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

I'm wondering that too, because wasn't the production version of the RR 100EX NOT supposed to have the aluminium front?

:t-hands:

Quite a time ago my sources told me the wooden folded roof cover, and a two-tone exterior ala 100EX would make it into production.

:usa7uh:

It's a production car.

Yet I'm not sure the front is of a brushed aluminum. Could be just galvanized, or just (as my sources claimed) painted in a special metal-like paint. :t-hands:

Re: Rolls Royce Drophead convertible

Looks pretty cool in that blue color! But maybe there's too much Arnage Convertible in this car...Though, all British make similar-looking luxury convertibles...
