Post number 199 has been selected as best answered.

The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engine two-seater sports car designed and developed in Germany by Bugatti Engineering GmbH. It was manufactured in Molsheim, France, by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.. The successor to the Bugatti Veyron, the Chiron was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show on 1 March 2016.

At the time when the Chiron was introduced, the first thought that came to mind was - they finally waited for the Veyron update, now - they released something truly new and special, which currently has no direct analogues or competitors

the Tourbillion we have at home (good reference in the TG video)

Imagine that you are a Ferrari executive and you're just done watching this presentation. How bad do you feel right now, knowing that F250's interior is pretty much a Dacia Sandero level in comparison to this?
Also, your halo car has essentially the same ICE as your mainstream product, while Tourbillion has this marvelous power train and is lighter than the predecessor... And you're about to launch a Ferrari EV 😅
The absolute shame!

Any word on how many bhp?

"Performance is largely theoretical at this stage (first deliveries aren’t until 2026, so real-world testing has only just begun in earnest) but reliably incomprehensible. We’re promised a total of 1,775bhp: 986bhp from the engine, 789bhp from the three e-motors, meaning without even waking the V16 from its slumber you have 4WD, a 60km EV-only range, Ferrari 812 Superfast levels of grunt… and happy neighbours.

Top speed is limited to 445km/h (277mph), which should keep you covered day to day, but clearly there’s more to give. Will they go after a new top speed record? “Let’s see,” says Mate, which means ‘yes’. Andy Wallace, the man who’ll probably pilot it into unchartered territory, points out that it gets the “boring bit, up to 250mph” done so much faster than the Chiron (around 25 seconds versus 32.6) that it’ll give them so much more of the 5.4-mile Ehra-Lessien straight to play with when pushing beyond 300mph. At the other end of the curve 0-62mph takes less than two seconds (a Chiron takes 2.4s), 0-124mph takes less than 5s (Chiron 6.1s) and 0-186mph less than 10s (13.1s)."

Never mind, just saw it…1800 bhp :eyebulge6

"It’s a car that’s 33mm lower and no longer than a Chiron, despite harbouring an all-new Cosworth-developed, 9,000rpm 8.3-litre naturally-aspirated V16 engine with a metre-long crankshaft and an 8spd dual-clutch gearbox bolted to the back. It weighs fractionally less than the Chiron’s 1,995kg kerbweight - despite packing a 200kg 25kWh battery down the spine where the gearbox would normally be, two electric motors on the front axle, another on the rear - and takes advantage of that slimmer centre console to pinch the glasshouse and reduce frontal area and therefore drag."

That's incredible if kerbweight true! It's the only confirmation I could find.

Same Source as above.

Jesko and Co. definitely look like they got built in a shed after this. Sorry Christian, but I hope you guys step up.
To be honest the new Zenvo is built along these lines. New everything. I remember Jens saying in an interview.

But the CC is nice. But no way over this. I think Bugatti have jumped a Generation technologically. V16 hybrid,we've known for an age but Jesus this is something else.

That’s comparing apples to oranges. Bugatti make hyper GTs, Ferrari makes hyper cars. It’s like a people who are into sailing boats vs motor boats. Same type of vehicle but completely different approaches and cultures.

This car is beautiful to be honest I wasn't expecting it to look this good. The exterior at first glance looks like a evolution of the Chiron but when you look at it more closely you can see that it is totally different. The body work is alot more athletic and sculptured with more curves and lines. It looks more compact than the bloaty looking Chiron. I love the way the front grill sticks out and there lights and intakes point inwards and the flow of curves from the bonnet or frunk goes over the side windows and roof to end into the fantastic rear haunches which has wonderful bulges ending with that beautiful open engine cam covers which all looks like its stroked by the hand of an artist.

The interior is a wonderful throwback to classic analogue time pieces, it does look a little odd to have the rev counter inside the speedometer, but it looks very stylish. I like the skeleton center console which looks like a combination of hitech engineering with 3D printing and complex machining.

The powertrain is masterful, brilliant idea in 2024 to bring out a massive 8.3 ltr V16 NA with a massive 1000HP and over 9000 rpm redline combined with 3x electric motors with 800HP and 25kwhr battery to have 60 to 70km of silent free electric range.

The performance is shattering as expected and raises the bar amongst production cars.

I am in love with a Bugatti at last, I love the Tourbillon!!!
