Apparently, the E39 M5 had as standard a leather central tunnel and armrests. I got a set of those and had them refreshed. Now they are waiting to be retrofitted to my E39.
There was also an extended leather option, but it's quite rare. I've started going through e-bay and Kleine Anzeige for a set of those.

I just upgraded phones to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
I am coming off my 6-year old Note 10 Plus, which still runs pretty well. When phones get this old, hardware issues start creeping in. It was time for an upgrade. I could have purchased the S25 Ultra but I can`t see the point in spending so much when the features and tech leaps are so small on most of these newer devices. The S24 Ultra is heavily discounted, just as feature-packed, and comes with 7 years of updates.
The processor feels like its 75% faster than the Note 10 Plus. The camera is much improved with better speed, processing, less color saturation and greater accuracy overall. Its an outstanding road partner as well with its all-day battery life after streaming for hrs on end. I have to say, though, I don`t feel like the improvements are an honest 6 year leap over the Note 10 Plus. It feels more like a 3-year leap in technology.
The phone companies need to give up the yearly debut, IMO. It is pointless.
One of my favorite features on the S24 Ultra is the AI photo editor.
I tried it on the AMG GTXX concept by removing the innermost rear lights, thinking it would look a little less cluttered.
It is pretty clever at filling in what you remove.
Camping with people that aren't used to camping soon... some equipment to lessen the shock to their system.

The Roger Waters tour from a couple of years ago finally made it to the cinema after much consternation around Waters' stance on Palastine by his record label... Since it was my Dad that introduced me to Waters' music when I was about 12, I thought I'd get an extra ticket to take him along. Not sure he agrees with Rogers politics, he might have to f#ck off to the bar.

My E39 asked for a new clutch and I couldn't say no. But since the gearbox had to come down, it was a good chance to refresh the shaft bearing and all bushings of the rear subframe and rear diff. Also I had the rear main seal and diff seals changed, as everything leaked like a seave.
The best thing, though, was the short shift from the E60 540i that I installed. Damn that made a huge difference!
All in all, about 1.200€ in parts and 350€ plus VAT for labour. You gotta love eastern Europe!
