Cayenne [Spy Shots] 2018 Porsche Cayenne (Spy pics & Info)

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.
^ Nice catches.

I think we're going to get multiple hybrid variants on this Cayenne; a Cayenne E-Hybrid, a Cayenne S E-Hybrid and a Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. Judging by the black calipers in that spy shot, the blue car might be a prototype for a new, base e-hybrid model.

This is the third generation, why not give it a change with the design,it's getting kind of boring with the evolution design approach,it's not a 911 after all.

Porsche has been running some 150 prototypes all over the world: in Dubai, South Africa, California, and at the Great Slave Lake in northern Canada, where it’s a good idea to travel in a convoy just in case you slide off the road or run into trouble. When we came along for winter testing, the cars seemed very close to production ready, but even so close to the model’s formal introduction, a few issues needed to be corrected. Since then, the rear-window defogger was adjusted and the electric shutters in the grille were revised so they won’t get stuck in subfreezing temperatures.

The real thing will be unveiled on August 30 in Stuttgart. It’s likely the Cayenne faithful—of which there are many at this point—won’t be disappointed.

I love evolution, I really do... but that gigantic, front-spanning grille is inexcusable and downright comical. This development is freaking ugly at worst and purely lazy at best.

This must be a facelift, I don't anything new exterior wise. We know the interior will be lifted from the new Panamera, but the exterior just look old.

The current model is attractive, but this doesn't look like it's moving the game on sufficiently. The gaping front end looks less than attractive in the photos so far.

The white car exposes the shape of the tail lights very well. They will be similar to the ones on the Panny Turismo and make the Cayenne look new from many angles. The devil is in the details.

2018 Porsche Cayenne To Be Unveiled On August 29th, Diesel Variants Delayed

Porsche is putting the finishing touches on the 2018 Cayenne but it appears the diesel variants have been delayed.

According to Car and Driver, the model will be unveiled on August 29th with a turbocharged V6 engine. A turbocharged V8 model is also in the works and that vehicle will reportedly be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

A handful of plug-in hybrids are expected to join the lineup later down the road and they are set to be equipped with V6 and V8 engines. The latter model will follow in the footsteps of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and produce around 700 hp (522 kW).

Diesel fans are reportedly out of luck as the publication is reporting the company is unlikely to announce the diesel-powered models until the drama surrounding the Dieselgate scandal calms down. While the models will be delayed, there aren't any plans to drop them in Europe as one source stated “it is simply unthinkable that all of our diesel customers will switch into gasoline" due to fuel prices.

A U.S. launch seems more unclear as the source said it's possible but, even if that does occur, it won't happen anytime soon.
