Panamera [Spy Shots] Next generation Porsche Panamera (II) Spy Pics & Info

The Porsche Panamera is a mid to full-sized luxury car (E-segment or F-segment for LWB in Europe) manufactured and marketed by Porsche. The Panamera name, as with the Carrera name, is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.

As I already mentioned before: if you like, for instance, the white one in the pic above, you don't have to worry :). Everything that I don't like is visible there.
I also saw the tourer irl with minimum disguise. The association with the concept car is very close, and I liked this one a lot. I overheard something about a late 2017 debut.
The interior will be a step up, as the predecessor had some quality issues and seemed a little unfinished in some aspects. What I liked particularly about the interior were the instrument cluster and the central screen and console including the vents. The ensemble is a little more coherent than in gen 1. The vents on the side do not look as 'piled' as before. What is a kinda funny detail is that the air stream from the central vents will only be controlled via the infotainment system. The new user interface in general is a huge step forward. The screen itself looks very high-tech.
What I did not like was the area around the central armrest incorporating a cupholder. But that is negligible.

Answers your questions?
post of the month! thank you:)

In real life, of course :). On Porsche grounds in Weissach.
The tourer imo is much more of a looker than the fastback. The latter tries to give Carrera vibes with a very long and almost straight roofline drop (beginning above the B-pillar) and rather small rear lights ... which in my opinion neither looks harmonic and really classy nor as distinctive as in gen 1. The tourer, in turn, will be very distinctive ;).

I'm gonna show my ignorance now but what do you mean by tourer and fastback? Is tourer short for turismo or fastback referring to hatchback? Apologies if this is obvious. Very informative post though.

Thanks

Fastback - the sedan. Literally refers to the way the back of the car quickly tapers off.

Tourer - the wagon; more of a European word for them.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, it looks like it is the tourer I am more interested in then and great to hear it is close to the concept design as if so I will be buying my first porsche. I would have referred to them as saloon and hatchback but everywhere it is different.

Cheers

Another bad photo shop job.

Agreed, what a mess. A simple Google search will dig up all the practically uncovered miles... You'd think whoever slapped this tripe together would've at least had the dignity to look online first.

Yeesh. T minus 12 days and counting.

I like how the window kink isn't turned upwards now, but still rather ugly towards the rear.....

Whoever compares this to a 7er or S class is very strange

I'll reserve judgment on styling until we see official pictures.

Still looks like a fat frog.

Sad.

This fat frog will sell like hot cakes for the next few years just like the first gen. The current Panamera more than makes up for it's controversial styling by still being among the best or the best in class in regards to performance, interior design, and quality.

Looking forward to the official pictures..Till then, as @sako97 also mentioned, I do not see any point in comment on the way it looks...Well, see you all right here once the car is officially unveiled guys, bye for now.

it is very important to note that tastes vary.
I for one would take the PRE FL current Panamera GTS over anything BMW ever made in the last 100 years.

The Panamera's beauty lies in its unique proportions and imposing presence. Its design really stands out, no matter how controversial.

It's important to note the completely obvious? Ok....

Next time you enlighten the forum with wisdom like this, please tag me as I wouldn't want to miss it for the world.
