I don't think the saloon is retro, it's what I would call stately.

Well, this is not an EV, so comparing it to new experimental designs made for EVs is a bit unfair. I agree with you, I dont like any of those either. The w223 though looks very good, can’t say the same about the 7 series, proportions went out of place. If someone wants a clean looking luxury SUV, they can get the new Range Rover, this to me seems like a Mansory Cullinan from 2004 with Genesis lights. Cant even call it a safe bet, just a a reflection of poor creativity from the designers.

That, but also copying the Aurus (there would already be two copying the Cullinan) and especially its rear lights is the last straw

Yup, one of their main points in the presentation was that it's highly customizable and you can commission your Century SUV build however you want (within means, ofc)

AND the one optioned with sliding door was a "GRMN" Century.

I like it. Lot's of Rolls inspiration, but this what Japan has done for decades. Copy and then improve the product.

Well, I love the Range Rover's design, but we're talking polar opposites of reliability, durability, etc.
Given this is Toyota's top of the line vehicle, it's arguably the best build, more reliable vehicle on the planet.

Japanese people don't make mediocre things....

You mean they don’t make low quality things, they absolutely build millions of mediocre, forgettable cars every single year.

This market isn’t driven by reliability and durability hence Land Rover most expensive products sells like hotcakes.
