Sorry Donkeykong but your 'claim' isnt changing anything ;) Design is a subjective thing and not based on facts.

No argument from me there. I don't understand why people are coming at me with this "fact" stuff this poll purely subjective as all are.

Code:
To each his own but saying the M3 cant win this poll is stupid and childish. Okej if it looked like a Fiat Mulipla but it doesn't.
M3 does look good so seeing the M3 leading this poll isn't surprising.
Using the word fanboy as an excuse becuase the M3 is leading is laughable.

I never said that,I can understand why the M3 won the poll it's a really good looking car.

:t-cheers:

BTW are you talking about a red M3? I'm confused

You asked about seeing the M3 in frozen grey "irl" and I replied yes,and added that paint job along with red were my least favorite color schemes.

No the guy stockwizard with his claims of how RS5 is widely considered to be the most gorgeous car on the street and how everyone here is BMW fanboy.

Of course looks are subjective..

I just think alot of people ranked this poll on something else besides looks..

If it is based on looks alone most people would agree the RS5 is a better looking car.

I have asked numerous people with zero bias between BMW and Audi and almost anyone I show a picture of the two cars love the RS5 more.

So you asking bunch of people is your idea of scientific measure of which is better looking car?

Why would I use a scientific measure for something that is subjective?

The m3 is beating the RS5 52-18 in the LOOKS department.

Gimme a break. I can't take this poll too seriously.

Then why claim RS5 is "widely considered to be the most gorgeous car on the street". When you describe something as "widely considered" , you are not stating just your opinion anymore, you are implying there is consensus among some large group of people - and I don't know how else one can know that minus a scientific poll. And you obviously haven't done one, so then may be not make wild claims next time.

No one is, except you and then start whining.

I'm not going to post every article and review of the RS5. It is celebrated as a gorgeous looking car. Everyone knows this.

I think alot of people confused this poll with their favorite car and not just in the LOOKS department.

There is a big gulf between articles saying it is a gorgeous car and "widely considered to be the most gorgeous car on the street". I am sure I could find articles that say M3 is also gorgeous - that doesn't mean there is some consensus out there that it is the most gorgeous thing out there.

This is unscientific poll, people vote for different reasons - some voted cause they genuinely think M3 is the best looking, some voted cause it is their favorite car and some voted just out of pure bias. The same goes for the Mercedes and the Audi too. That is how these internet polls work, it doesn't mean anything, so why whine cause the result is not what you want it to be.

I think the M3 is the best looking of the group here.... Maybe it's the marquee of the performance nameplate that's fudging up my opinion, but on the contrary side of fudging up my opinion, it does have the worlds worst driver demographic.

I'm not a car designer and I'm certainly not at the level of Walter da Silva who upon penning the A5 coupe was supposedly moved to tears whilst describing the car as his best work ever. I have many in my circle of friends who consider the A5/S5/RS5 as far and away the best looking coupe in its segment. It has huge mainstream appeal, no question.

My perception of the RS5 is different. The front overhang, whilst admirably short for a car that still mounts an entire V8 engine ahead of the front axle, is still longer than that of a true RWD-based coupe. As a result, this lends the RS5 a certain nose-heaviness that doesn't befall either of its competitors here. This nose heaviness is exacerbated by frontal DRG that, whilst distinctive, is now decidedly long in the tooth. And boring as well for that matter. The almost rectangular headlights combined with the soft, rounded shield grill make the front of the car look dated in my opinion. Think I'm off? Just check out the new frontal design language featuring sharper, more faceted headlight and grill circumferences on the A1, A6 and A7. Clearly, Audi feels the same way too.

I think the shape of the Audi's roofline, C-pillar and DLO is very macho and robust looking. But this is offset by a strange swage line that curves more over the front and rear fenders but straightens out, weakly, through the door panel. I don't like it personally; the strong trapezoidal form of the roofline and glasshouse combined with the soft curvature of the wings is incompatible in my amateur car design opinion.

It's not all doom and gloom in my car-loving brain for the RS5 though. I really like the dead-on rear and rear 3/4 views of this car. The wide haunches work nicely with the tumblehome to give the RS5 a wonderful broad-shouldered look. From this angle the RS5's on-road stance is unbeatable in this company. What is for the RS5 its strongest aspect, it's also for the M3 its weakest - the narrow hipped M3 just can't match the RS5 for booty cachet.

Side on, the M3 is just the king in my eyes. That front overhang is so short it can't possibly meet EU crash legislation requirements (and yet it does), the wheels fit their arches perfectly and never look overwhelmed by sheetmetal. The nose down stance of the car is just gorgeous and the distinctive rocker panel surfacing makes the car look fast even when standing still. I like the ratio of glasshouse to sheetmetal too and this has the added bonus of creating the airiest in-cabin ambience which is a boon for visibility. I love the powerdome on the bonnet - it adds to the muscularity of a car that has a rather more demure donor model. As for the nose, well, it's as BMW M as one could want: distinctive, instant down-the-road recognisability - and menacing too!

The C63 AMG coupe is a handsome car too. Whilst it has received much criticism for the glasshouse shape and rear pillar "kick" - I think that these are aesthetically favourable features of the side aspect. The large ratio of rear sheetmetal to wheel size isn't as favourable - in fact this is the single biggest criticism I harbour for this car. The black wheels are unbecoming of a Mercedes Benz - second biggest criticism. Other than that I quite like the DLO shape, the car also has a nice, purposeful nose-down stance and the overall silhouette is sleek with an acceptably short front overhang. The distinctive frontal graphic doesn't brashly shout "outta-my-way-AMG" - rather sending a clear message in a more restrained yet equally persuasive manner. The blackened centre section of the lip spoiler is a nice touch that emphasises the sporty shape of the side sections of the front bumper.

The M3 has something all the others do not have, I can't explain it. Maybe this could help: Ferrari vs. McLaren ?

For me its a tie between the RS5 and C63 and I`m leaning toward the RS5 a bit. The design is very masculine and more powerful looking than the others. The M3 is my least favorite.

The nose is a washout and the rear is kind of stupid looking. I really hate how the tiny tail pipes are squeezed together.. like thay are clinched up in the rear diffuser. Very bad design imo.
