@Merc1, mate if you ignore how useless these cars are as track day tools then I'm speechless. What's the point if a couple of hot laps renders it useless because the tyres are now shot?
Heck if you were to take an E63, RS7, etc to a track day the rest of the users would be thinking to themselves 'what a d1ck' and rightly so.
Face it all these cars excel on the public highways which was what they were designed for, sure they are excess to requirements in terms of performance and you'll struggle to use more than the likes of the S7 will have to offer but if you have the money and want it then who am I to argue.
You have missed the point by a country mile. You're basically saying the RS7 is pointless then, all on the excuse about wearing out some tires. If I have 115K for a car a set of tires are nothing.

Explaining that giving the right suspension would have yielded different and more favourable results is me missing the point????
The discuss was about the Panny and RS7 which you decided to include the E63 is me missing the point????
And it isn't only the cost but it would be a concern when you consider here a set of rubber for an RS7 would at a guesstimate cost between £1000-£1300 which could be shredded in 30 mins on a track. So a day at the track could be extremely expensive, may be best to look for a much lighter two seater number and get far more enjoyment at less expense to you than taking your nice heavy German beast to the track don't you think.
Oh and you don't think that's a hell of a waste of money then we have clearly completely different upbringing.
Boy that RS7 sure loves to dance, moving that body all over the place!
Now if you can't understand that killing one of these big heavy beasts around the track will destroy the tyres in no time at all then it's you that has a problem. LOL
Merc1 did not implied or said out right about that at all.....
Also leave the off topic stuff behind...
Oh don't you start with the 'my favorite Audi' thingy.LOL
@Merc1 you really need to watch the comparison test Chris Harris did with the RS6 vs the CLS E63 Shooting Brake, that Audi had the DRC suspension and the roll is almost non existent. You are grasping at straws with this one test and saying the RS7 is sh1t but it's only sh1t on the track with the suspension setup it was supplied with, I'm not saying for one minute its a better balanced car than the Panny because nothing is in this class period but I'm damn sure if it had had DRC the results wouldn't have been so cut and dry.
Excuses.....? No, just trying to give a valid explanation to someone who doesn't want to listen and has made up his mind because it suits the world he chooses to live in.
No actually your problem is that you're sore because the best Audi has was easily beaten here. I couldn't care care less about the AMG because that wasn't the topic here.
I find it sad that someone who could afford a RS7 wouldn't want to have one track day with the car because of the expense of buying new tires. Again what is the point of buying a RS7? S7 would do just fine for 99%.
Are you Chris Harris? When will the excuses end?
Money is great, and I can buy a RS7 tomorrow if I wanted, but I clearly woudln't limit myself to never driving it on the track because of tire costs. Really silly.
Healthy respect for money is buying a S7 instead of a RS7 if you aren't going to thrash the RS7 at least once or twice. HUGE waste of money to buy an RS7 then.
