I hate this thing. Totally unimaginative nothing. Doesn’t look a Mercedes or a Maybach, pure Chinese knock off.

Just build this. The Chinese will line up to buy it. Then test in America, Europe and the Middle East. It will blow up overnight like the original CLS did. It’s an old idea that was ahead of it’s time before but is right on time now with everyone wanting a high riding vehicle. Just fcuking do it.

Without intending anything more than to exemplify what you indicate at least within GCF, although also in the media in general, the EQS Maybach concept thread is 1.75 pages long and like me, everyone completely forgot, the XM already has 12 pages since it was presented, I think this is important in the medium and long term,

I agree that this sedan SUV should have been launched, (I also see it as a cute retro E-Class) but as it has been happening with Wagonner decision-making and defense of designs, the timid attitude added to the strategy of "lower costs" led to putting aside what is really worthwhile and does and made Mercedes what it was and should be.

Are they successful? Clearly yes, but beware, as I said in the medium and long term this can change for boredom as it happened to Audi from one year to the next.
This is the "XM" from AMG or Maybach choose one, however this is what I also expect from Mercedes, it was not the time before ..... ok how about now

BMW is lucky to have a Rolls Royce.
What does BMW have to do with it? A recognized and specialized magazine says today May 26, 2022 out of nowhere that this Maybach concept is a fail and you post a good photo of the Circular? I don't understand

How can a concept be successful? Is the purpose of the concept to be successful?

Of course, it depends on whether it is a "vision" that explores technology or 2045 design, or a concept that explores the waters of a particular market or announces an upcoming design, the latter if it is not manufactured is because it was not successful or did not have the expected feedback, I think they simply mean that they did not like the "concept" itself

op Gear may say it's a fail, but it certainly gave Mercedes enough confidence to introduce a SUV sedan for China.
So it's not a failure, I didn't know they decided to go ahead with the idea, is that confirmed?
As a sedan it never seemed bad to me, with normal wheels, the body especially in profile, it reminds me of the W108 and those of that time line and style, it has a retrofutur look very inspired by them in my opinion, which makes it very original

No product reveal yet, but I've heard from enough sources both personal and on the internet that it's already been approved to believe it.

Its a unique design and will appeal to the Chinese and Middle East markets where sedans and SUV's are both popular.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
