Not really, in essence this is like a Golf Coupe. I'm expecting it to be around a 3 500 euro premium over a 4 door Golf with the same engine. In other words a Golf for those looking for a car with more style than substance.

PS: Just noticed that it has a pano roof stretching from the wind shield to the middle of the roof.

I am a bit underwhelmed by this car. The distinctive polished hexagon front ring from the concept has been divided by the front bumper and painted black. The production version doesn't look as aggressive and unique as before.

Indeed.

If Scirocco / Corrado was a proper coupe (not a 3dr hatch) the whole situation in VW model line would be much clearer. And VW marketing teams around the world would sleep better.

I'm concerned since the most exciting VW models (Passat CC, Sirocco) won't be available in US market. It seems VW USA is determined to fight Toyota - and beat it: even in dullness.

Actually we will get the Passat CC this fall, thankfully. This however, still won't fix VW's sales problems here.

I think it looks nice although I agree that it looks like a FIat. It seems to be more Italian than German to be honest

The more I look at it the more I like it. 2 things, interior and top engine choice, will make or break it for me. I don't want the same 3.2L V6 from the R36, it is time for the 3.6L V6 from the Passat! This with 280+ hp and a killer interior could be very interesting. Then again where does that leave the R32 and in other markets, the Audi S3?

WOW this is just fantastic is what I wish I could say

Unfortunately having a Nissan front melded with a Peugeot rear is not German design.

Like Yannis I hated Iroc it was the worst design in VW history of concept cars, this does not resemble in any way a Corrado which resembled a Scirocco which are true design leaders.

Perhaps real life pictures and me seeing this hideous German in flesh will help change my mind but I doubt it for now I'll pick the behind of a mule over this thing

first good design of vw since a very long time - walta de silva did a very good job in translating the known concept into a production vehicle, without touching the audi single frame grill
main concurent 1 series [coupé] ?

Ops I forgot to add a disclaimer that the statement doesn't apply to all cars. Seriously speaking the Scirocco is a very appealing car but I'm severely let down by the interior which lacks any design ques found in the concept. Feels almost like they took a Golf and stacked on new shell on top, but I'm happy that it has four individual seats.
