Thank you for the articles, verry good stuff, but i`m more interested in performance mods that can be done to the car....power upgrades,ASR defeat, performance parts supliers.

If I were you I would stay away from those things. The E60 AMG is already a monster, there is really no need to tune it. If things go haywire your local Mercedes dealer might not repair the car based on the fact that it has been tuned by an outsider etc.

Do you have a new warranty running on the car by the way with your dealer?

No warranty.I did not get the car from a dealer, the car was in the posesion of a german friend,in fact the car was owned by my boss german asociate and he gave the car to me because he knew that i`m a race adict and he did not used the car any more in past 2 years.....he has brand new AMG-es...

So...if anything brokes i`ll repaire it my self with one of my best friends that is an enginier and toghether we modified few cars by now.

Best thing to do mate with a car liek that would really be to upgrade the little things which will make the car just just that little bit better.

E.g Better suspension and breaks. Oh also give it a very good service! Check all suspension arms and bushes (They tend to ware down and the steering starts to go all over the place.

:t-cheers:

I wish Rob. I really want a W124, but it just wouldn't make sense ($$$) right now.

Right now is the perfect time to buy, if you can get a loan.

When I signed my lease they said I could buy it at the end for 38K a few weeks ago they called and said I could buy it for 31K. I have found online in a few spots people being offered mid to low 20s. The auction prices are 17-22ish so if they call again I will try and get them down to the low 20s. Then maybe. So what if I don't have a job:t-crazy2:

Well I guess what I really meant is that it isn't the right time for me personally. 2 older Mercedes would eat me alive in upkeep. I thought about just getting an E500 and just garaging it until I can afford to "drive" it. Actually buying it wouldn't be a problem as far as a loan goes. I'm more worried about what a 2003 CLK and a 1994 E500 would do to my upkeep funds.

Suppose if you kept the E500 in a garage just sitting there until brighter days!

Plus if you but it now, it may rise in value due to being a classic;)

Ya I have to start looking into fixing up the 190E, esp. if I don't buy the E.

Worst comes to worst, pimp yourself out:banana:

If you can do some of the work yourself, the E500 shouldn't be too bad.

I see. I would still keep away from tuning it. Just doesn't seem right to do this to a rare car like the E60 AMG. If you're ever thinking of selling it, the fact that it has been tuned and used in races means that you'll get far less for it than if you keep it stock.

But hey, it's your car and your money. :t-cheers:

s I said before, keep the tuning toa minimum ony the basic thing which will man the car run smoother ad that litte bit faster!

And another thing, get some better rims, but not after market ones try and get hold of some official AMG rims (not from new Mercedes) theses would look good from the 190E Evolution
