W124 E60 AMG....my new "toy".

s I said before, keep the tuning toa minimum ony the basic thing which will man the car run smoother ad that litte bit faster!

And another thing, get some better rims, but not after market ones try and get hold of some official AMG rims (not from new Mercedes) theses would look good from the 190E Evolution

Just found near my town a set of AMG rims 2x 17-8.5J-ET18 front and 2x17-10J ET17 rear.....my question is that the rear wheels R17 J10 ET17 will fit to my E60???And if they fit with spacers do they fit wthout widening the rear body???

Does anyone know about the maximum range of wheels that can be mounted on w124 E500/E60 without mesing with the rear body??

They look just like those in the picture.

Thank you!!

I'm sure they will fit, the rear will appear wider as the wheels will stick out an inch but there is no need for widening the rear arches:usa7uh:

But I'm not a Mercedes specialist..Maybe Cawimmer430 will have some input:t-cheers:

After calculating the numbers the wheel will be 8mm closer to the inside and 42mm closer to the wheel arch. But as rims like those dont come in my way too often i think i`ll jut get them and deal with the problem.I realy love those rims and dont want to miss this oportunity.

Wise choice mate!

Good luck:t-cheers:

I think you should be good. The only thing is, if need be, widen the arches. The good thing is they're wide enough to give you that "fat-rear-tire" look, at least you don't need spacers. :t-cheers:

Beautiful car... one of my dream cars.

BUT... IMO this is not a car to mess with. It's a classic and it should stay that way. Find some nice Hammer rims for it and be done with it. If you want to update the suspension and the brakes that's fine. But please, please dont touch the engine unless you're changing the oil. The engine in that car is what's such a masterpiece. If you mess with it you ruin the story that the car has IMO.

I beg you not to ruin a piece of German automotive history.
