Whoa! I am not 18 yet! Hide this from me! This is hardcore! :eek2: :D

Yep, especially after reading all this - I would probably go for a 4-cylinder diesel engine with 4matic, xdrive or 4motion technology for daily use.

320d x-drive
C 250 CDI 4matic
or a Golf with the 2.0 TDI 4motion…

5 cylinder or 8 please:)

8 for the npoise and effortless power and tourqe.

5 for the sound, power and economy.

What do I need? Well my I4 works pretty well.
But what would I go out and buy?
Well F6 or V8... 911 Turbo or E63----used

No vote from my side on this poll. I'm very confused to go with one of my 2 favorite bangers... 6 & 8..!! :eusa_thin

If it's force-Inducted, than 6-cyl (like 335i's N54-B30, Gt-R's Vr38de-Tt & Supra's 2Jz-Gte) or, the (N-A) 8-cyl like current M3 & E-39 M5!

A V8 please. I'l take a exceptional V or I6 though, 300hp or better with good torque, but I prefer a V8 now.

M

I am fine with my 5 cylinder turbo (where is that option?) and I would be more than happy with a I6. Anything more would be too much.

Six-in-a-row.

That's all I want.

Also interesting: BMW makes a straight 6 since 1930, and Mercedes started making the straight 6 in 1900 (!!) but sadly stopped somewhere down the line and, like all the others, went to the more compact but less balanced V6...

And here's some hardcore porn next to Artist's softcore:

Impossible question... really.

What do I need? Well a turbo'd four is all that I need and all that I have. x 2 of course ;)

What do I want?? Everything above a 4 cylinder! :D
I'd have each of the following:

- the 5 cylinder engines from both the Focus RS and the TT-RS

- the six cylinder BMW S54 pictured above - a true masterpiece. The Porsche flat sixes (any and all of them), the Nissan VR38DETT and many more...

- V8; it has to be a Ferrari flat-plane crank then followed closely by the greatest V8 engine to come out of Germany (now, would that be the M156 or the S65? flip a coin and take your pick... :) )

- V10; Please put my name down for all but the turbo'd lump on the RS6.

- V12; The one in the Ferrari Enzo and 599 GTB, the Bizzarini-origins V12 in the LP670 SV is just amazing and AMG's 7.3 litre V12 is epic.

So really, what one needs vs. what one wants from an engine? The question is like limiting yourself to wanting just one pair of shoes.

If we are talking about rational needs then a 4 cyl is enough, as for my likes, a V12, an italian one, an L6, a bavarian one and an old milanese V6.
