This is a tough one...
The GT3 eeks out the top spot for me. After that, it becomes especially difficult. They each have their attributes, and each of their failings are negligible. The GT3 is a dying breed of high-revving NA that offers a unique set-up, and thus a unique experience.

I can see the 720S taking the 2nd spot, but maybe that's me being enamored by the novelty of its design and aero. What suprises me though is that the 488 is most likely in 4th or possibly 5th place, as there's certain appeal to the NA V10 over Ferrari's turbo V8. But that V8 is a peach of an engine and I am sure that's the case for the turbo Ricardo V8 in the Macca.

I have to go to the lab and work out the computation and then I'll get back to you guys. This might be an all-nighter...

One small question: is the GT3 really part of this conversation? Don't get me wrong, the GT3 is a great performer given its price, but it really is a step down in terms of prestige and performance compared to the 720S, Huracan Performante, and 488 GTB. I've never considered a GT3 to be a "supercar".

If anything the 911 Turbo/S would be more comparable to those other cars.

I chose the Huracan Performante in this poll. Why? Proper "supercar" that is a bit "old school" with a 5.2L V10 and its design, but not that old school as it has very modern go fast features. It has the prestige, the looks (subjective, but I like it), and now even hypercar capability.

For me, a mid engine "supercar" is the next step up to aim for. If I was in the market now for one of these, the Huracan Perforamante would seriously be considered.

That's a fair point....I chose the GT3 because it is the latest release from Porsche, and the competence of the car is so far beyond its own category that around a track, it would get quite close to the mightier and pricier supercars mentioned in this thread. But you are right, a 500-bhp GT3 sounds like it doesn't belong in the same category as the 640-HP Performante, the 670-HP 488 GTB and the 720-HP 720S

The GT3 - whilst certainly not at the same level of outright grunt - is still a supercar for me. It's my choice here because of its comparable affordability and - I can only imagine - one of the most intensely intimate of driving experiences, if my experiences in other Porsches is anything to go by. I hear it's a surprisingly accessible machine given what it's capable of.

Interesting to note though that Porsche (in most countries) will invalidate your warranty / optional service plan if your car so much as sniffs a circuit. McLaren on the other hand won't provided you take the car in for a pre-track inspection at a McLaren dealer. That's pretty tidy. So, if I was PCV and I already had a GT3 then the next-level machine would undoubtedly be the 720S.

Amazing that Ferrari is so far behind on the poll, especially given the fact that multiple votes are allowed. Normally, there is a Ferrari blowout on most other polls

- 991 rear-engined flat-six 9000 rpm NA + 3 pedal manual
- McLaren 720 horse turbo V8 mid-engined monster with dual clutch
That would pretty much wrap up my performance motoring needs for the rest of my life.

Eeeny meeny minny moh close one this and difficult choice between 720S, 911 GT3 and Performante but due to its breataking styling and amazing aero tech and power and interior I would take the 720S first.
