Back to when the G01 was premiered in 2017 as 2018 model year. It is just only one year before the launch G05, G07 and G20 in 2018 as 2019 models. Between those two years: 17 and 18, G01 shares similar design language and characteristic with the pre-LCI G11 and G30. While the G05 and products that released after are evolving into another design language. For example: the L-shaped daytime running lights, softer character lines/belt lines and several tweaks in the interiors. In comparison to the G11 and G30 where they still have the classic angel eyes and sharp/familiar BMW character lines that connected with the door handles.This has always been the case for the X3. Obviously the family resemblance, but in the X3 in particular it always had a very unique interior compared to its brothers in the three past generationsThey are using the methodology that because they have sat in every BMW since this interior was launched they are familiar to its layout.
The Neue-Klasse interior has spoiled them.

Saving cost is more important than saving lives. Thank you Tesla.The UI of the 'Neue-Klasse' interiors is just downright dangerous. I don't know why so many basic functions have been put into menus and sub-menus. On top of that the graphics and text are distracting when trying to change something as simple as the distance to the car in front while the radar cruise control is active.
