X2 2025 BMW X2 Spyshots

The BMW X2 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW since 2017. It is marketed as a sports activity coupé (SAC), it is considered a sportier and less practical alternative to the X1, as is the case with other even-numbered X models with its respective counterparts.

Latest Spy Photography suggests a completely different facia from the X1.

Something predictable, taking into account the previous X1 and X2 totally different from each other and not only the facia but in absolutely everything

As already outlined in the 2 GC LCI thread, seeing the spyshots, it seems like BMW's single L-shape taillights are going down the drain, supplanted by a double L-shape signature mirroring the front DRLs. That had actually already been hinted at by Domagoj Dukec, according to whom standardizing the brand's iconic visual elements is necessary (double kidney grille, double headlights, double taillights...).

It does make sense in theory and it's already a trend (e.g. latest Hyundai Santa Fe), probably pushed by the need to differentiate oneself within the flurry of new (mostly Chinese) brands flooding the market. Hell, we've even come to see premium manufacturers use their actual brand logo in grille patterns and light signatures (E-Class). In BMW's case though I think their identity is well-established enough as is for such standardization to be desperately needed; disrupting their current single hockey stick rear signature (with all the shape/texture variations it allows for) may only bring more confusion and dislikes.

It is seen in a plan to celebrate differences with the X1, like the X5 and the X6 and repeat its success.
A surprise that it is so soon and an intrigue to see how the creators of the coupe SUVs have matured the design to today where it has been adopted by many mass brands in lower segments as well.

How long does it take normally from these teased to the presentation?

I guess the interior will be the same or very similar to the one of the latest X1, i.e. the lounge type, instead of the car type.

As a matter of fact, my colleague here at the office just ordered a X2, the F39 one, which is scheduled to be delivered sometime in October. He wasn't interested in waiting for one as he didn't like the X1 interior at all and is also not a fan of the expected price increase. He got a well spec'ed sDrive18i M Sport for 39.300€, which in my book is quite a lot for a BMW that is not blue and RWD.

He must truly hate the new interiors. The X2 cabin is based on the 12 year old F30 Series.

Good example, now that I return to my country, I see these FIAT's even in the soup, great sales success, they caught my attention at first glance....

The entry of these two new Renault and Peugeot (both the best I have seen so far in the medium segment) warns that the new X2 will be entering a moment of maturation and greater appreciation of the average consumer for this type of SUV's coupes, emulating the success from the X6 segment to the lower middle which will be the most popular.....I recently realized that the best-selling vehicle in the world, the Tesla Y is actually a coupe SUV.....

This It's not bad at all IRL, it has some very good angles:

the entire rear and external silhouette is a copy paste of the X4

I think BMW is trying to push the upcoming X2 to be in line with the X6 LCI which is likely going to be a baby X6 instead of baby X4 in terms of it's exterior design.
It may be, very soon we will know and I am quite intrigued, the competition has increased today.

Makes sense if the X4 won’t have a successor but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
