AMS: BMW M3 E90 vs Mercedes C63 AMG

^weight is a big factor here.. dont forget that..
the C63 is for some reason heavier..
other than that we allready knew that M probably are the best around tracks..so no news here..
the news is that the gap is VERY small now.. and in hands of the right driver or on a normal road..i wouldnt bet agains the C63

PS
Ohh and the price has been cut to nearly the same... wich is also news compared to previous AMG´s

No if tests are anything to go by the gap is bigger around a track this time around compared to previous generation.

As for the weight, well making the car lighter is part of making it handle better and AMG sought of failed at that I guess.

shhh.. don't say anything bout the weight difference or this thread will soon degrade into another thesis paper on weight measurement. ;)

After seeing what happened in the other thread(:eek2::t-hair:) i'd never do such a thing;):D

I have to agree, the C55 was as fast as the M3 on many tracks. Thing is this time around Mercedes has put a lot of more focus on driver involvement. That worked out rather well from what I have seen. But the M3 is capable in many other disciplines beside the driver involvement... Sure the M3 is still the drivers choise, no doubt, but the C63 has come a long way in the one department where it didn't even play the same game before.

Way to go!

^True,as reviews put it "the M3 handles better but the C63 is more fun to drive"

Have seen that quote many times before:usa7uh:

Yes, to some extent that is true. The M3 seems to get a lot of praise for its driving pleasure but it's qualities also seem to be harder to exploit fully. The C63 is more straight forward and easy to access. Torque anyone? So, if you are not able to utilize the M3 to the full extent the C63 will do a just as good job. According to reviews the same goes for the now obsolete RS4.

Yep,to really enjoy M3's full potential u have to rev it up and simply u can't do that on every road or every time u drive the car, mostly a track will only do for it.

I think it is the other way around from the few test videos I have seen where the M3 was tidy around a track while the C63 was a handful. Which makes sense since C63 has more torque and more weight and less rubber - recipe for a more "wild" ride.

Some think that is the essence of "fun to drive".

oh, my bad, I thought you said "easy to drive". I can see why C63's tire smoking ways is more fun.

Not just the tyre smoking, for some people goin really fast, ability to instant over-take others, drifting and awesome engine sound is driving fun:usa7uh:
