Yes, always coupe. The roof section is an important part of a car design. With a convertible you loose this. And there is a lot of wind and noise when you drive with the roof down. Besides I feel like an idiot in an open convertible. I am not a show-off guy….

Few convertibles provide a fabric top that looks as visually compelling as the roof of coupe versions. Porsche's more current 911s, from 991 onwards, are examples of stylistically well-executed folding tops IMHO.

There's no right or wrong answer here. A good convertible offers an enjoyably more viceral experience - sound, wind, exposure - when you need a change. I would never have one as an only car / daily driver though.

It's all about horses for courses. I would have a GT4 RS over a Spyder RS, a 296 GTS over a 296 GTB, a Vanquish coupé over a convertible, a Zonda F Roadster over a coupé, a 911 coupé over a cabriolet and so on and so on...
