That look really good for me! Powerful visual.![]()
Just a rendering by an independent automotive illustrator. But IMHO, this looks VERY good. I'd love to see sheetmetal sculpturing similar to this applied to future BMWs. And who knows ? I see traces of Polestar here. And Polestar's former chief designer is now on BMW's payroll as design chief for all upper-level sport/luxury vehicles.

There is potential for an “icon” of the modern Neue-Klasse era especially with Audi reviving the TT for a modern audience. The heart says yes but the market says no. Maybe emotions should drive the decision for once. I am pretty sure a Neue-Klasse sports coupe concept i4/4 will be offered to show how the Neue-Klasse will multiply into other segments. I won’t be surprised if it retains its distinctive nose but with much thinner kidney grilles.![]()

What happened to this?

Or...some project by a cottage manufacturer that features some BMW componentry.
Real in the sense of being a genuine BMW works pre-production prototype.
That looks more like an SUV than a hatchback.![]()
Imaging the next 1er. Wide Grille? Or TallGrille?
It’s just a test car for electric motors. I was wondering the same thing and @bmwblog said that it’s not a real thing and it won’t come out.![]()
I've often wondered whether this is..."real". Real in the sense of being a genuine BMW works pre-production prototype. Or...simply a "kit car" like makeshift body placed over BMW drivetrain development mules. Or...some project by a cottage manufacturer that features some BMW componentry.
Good strategy imo.NK strategy

Good strategy imo.
It’s just a render. Hooydonk made it clear that NK models will be unique to their own. Unlike what Mercedes is doing with their lineup, where even full fat AMG’s look the same with the series model.NK strategy

He’s trying to make people look “hypocrite”, especially those of us that said the Mercedes lineup looked essentially the same, just with different lengths. I get that after the introduction of NK design most of the models will share similar design cues, unlike the current lineup where every model has its unique styling, but there’s already 3 different design philosophies happening all at the same time. Saloons with the singular headlight+grille, SUV’s with the small vertical grille, and the top-end models with the big grille and split headlights. Full fat M models are also getting the similar wide-body treatment to fully differentiate them from the series models. So, I don’t see the “Matryoshka” effect at all.The design of the "neue Klasse" Ix3 and I3 also indicates (the concept cars) there is a differentiation in design. We have seen only 1 NK-Model. So stop insinuating things you can not prove.
Also, there was a recent interview with a BMW designer who told the interviewer there would not be a "matroeshka" design at BMW. I think it was an interview at BMWBlog.
EDIT; "Uygar" made it clear also.
it was not a project slated for production.![]()

I think you will be surprised how the next 1 Series won't look like the 1 Series we know. Not just from a styling perspective.![]()
