Agreed, a new 760i is more of a sports-car than a Lotus Elan because it goes around the ring quicker.
Sure, you just keep comparing cars that are 30 years apart.

It's arguably BMWs bread and butter. The M3/4 is _the_ BMW.They better not get rid of them. Life would be so boring without coupes, lol.
It'd be nice if BMW made a RWD drop top 2 seater is all I'm saying. Chop the lid off an M2 if you have to. Make it happen.
It's a dilemma making a business case of a cabrio these days I think. I think the collaboration with Toyota is stopping after this. Perhaps merging the 4 and 8 cabrio to a 6 cabrio would work? That would be a 4 seater, and BMW already has two 4 seat cabrios. And of course a 2 seat Roadster called Z4, maybe you have heard of it
And a cabriolet 2er is 100% not happening. There's already choice enough and that car wouldn't sell enough to warrant R&D. Just chopping up the lid is not going to work clearly.
The present 2er would have made a fine Cabrio. Imagine the M2 as one? That would be a 4 seater, and BMW already has two 4 seat cabrios. And of course a 2 seat Roadster called Z4, maybe you have heard of it
