I'm suspecting that BMW AG will not permit the likes of the AMG.EA 4 door GT, Polestar 5 and future VAG J1 successors to go unchallenged. Perhaps with a "reply" courtesy of the ALPINA subsidiary ?
This is interesting that BMW will keep the 5 series in production for 8 years and the 7 series for 10 years. Both will receive ICL updates in 2027 so then will there perhaps be another ICL update after that?Ynguldyn's updates on the lifespan of the current 5 and 7 Families:
More lifetime extensions for current models: G60/G90 will stay in production until 10/31, G61/G99 - 06/32, G70/G72/G73 - 10/32

The G60 will probably become a much more attractive vehicle in the LCI in 2027 with the Neue Klasse styling theme. In my opinion the frontal styling is where the major change should happen as the rear of the car looks good and the tail lights are modern and sharp. Its the same with the G70, the rear looks good but the front is a shambles. While polarizing at first, the G60/61 present a design that is modernistic, clean and crisp. IMHO, it is easily envisionable that LCIs directed at bringing the model line into the NKL design fold are a sufficient measure benefitting it's sustainabilty in the marketplace.
this does seem strange but unless it will only be the 4GC and not i4. I wonder if the i4 will receive a huge NKL LCI in line with the new i3 next year or 2027?![]()
Rumor: BMW Could End 4 Series Gran Coupe Production Early, Leaving the i4’s Future Uncertain
A credible leak hints that BMW will end 4 Series Gran Coupe production in February 2027, over a year early. Here’s what that could mean for the i4 and future Neue Klasse models.www.bmwblog.com
I wonder if this means the new NK 4er is in danger too as the next 8er and 2er…
