Hot! BMW AG: What's Next

I wonder if the i4 will receive a huge NKL LCI in line with the new i3 next year or 2027?

I wouldn't have thought so. EOP for the G26 4GC is early 2027 - call it 18 months from now - if they were doing anything further with the i4 we'd have seen it already.

You can line the G60/61, but "clean" and "crisp" are the last words I'd use to describe them.

Help me understand...

Save the somewhat lengthly front overhang and the perhaps overly austere appearance of the rocker skirts, precisely where would one perceive superfluous cluttered, "afterthought" surfacing and tacky details ?

Don't bother. They're just mad the E class is absolutely dead while the 5er is thriving like it's always done...

Also, next to clean and crisp I'd like to add "highly modern" and "up to date".....again very much unlike the E class which looks like a car made in 2014.

The details are fussy - particularly the front. The M-sport package in particular has a lot of random angles and cuts, and of course the giant nostrils at the front don't scream "clean" either. The NKL style by comparison, yes that is clean and crisp. This? No. The rear with the giant black plastic cut ins to bumper don't look clean.

The side profile is fine, but I'm not particularly a fan of the extra thick "kink" with the 5 inlayed into it, nor of the black bodywork at the bottom to try and make it look slimmer. The car is big, just accept that its big.

You could make an argument that the F10 and F90/G30 5 series looked a bit boring, but those were actually clean and crisp designs.

Nobody mentioned the E class.
But I'd also struggle to find anyone who thinks the E-class is a bad looking car.
What does "modern" and "up to date" even mean in the context of design?

The biggest problem (except of all the cost cuttings off course) is that the rear end of the car seems to be designed by an another designer. It doesen't fit to the rest of the car and the massive hood. The boot seems to be to short, to angled and sitting to low compared with the hood. The thick/extra long Hoffemeister knick reinforces this illusion. The G61 is much more harmonic in the design.

Bigger wheels wont fix anything to the G60 design. I think sharper lines and some adjustments to the rear end would do a majeure thing. Like skip the upraising window line and flattend/extend the trunk as the E60. The E60 looks wonderful, well proportioned and sharp lines. The G60 could be a real tribute to the E60 if they gave it some classic design elements.

And adjusting the headlights to locate below the character lines is also important because it would at least remove the impression of being a FWD vehicle that is always being criticized for the G60 generation.

I won’t accept any G60 slander in this forum !!! 🤣
All jokes aside, it really is a huge vehicle. Makes the 19’s look tiny. I really want to get these style 21 inch 943M wheels for our car.
