M8 BMW M8 Coupé & Convertible (F91 & F92) VIDEOS


The BMW M8 is the high-performance version of the BMW 8 Series (G15) marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. Introduced in June 2019, the M8 was initially produced in the 2-door convertible (F91 model code) and 2-door coupe (F92 model code) body styles. A 4-door sedan (F93 model code, marketed as 'Gran Coupe') body style was added to the lineup in October 2019. Fact is:
Your measurement is ridiculous! I hope that at least this you've understood now! Already @Matski gave you an example! Since you do NOT know, what distortions of the video happen in the whole chain from the camera -> vid conversion at sport auto -> upload -> youtube internal vid conversions -> playback at your browser/device, to prove technically something with your stopwatch behind your screen is silly.

So. If we can now hopefully agree, that anyone with the slightest technical background knows that your measurement proves nothing, we can discuss:

What is the correct way of sport auto to handle an accusation done by you based on the pseudo-proof by a silly measurement?
They could answer you lengthy and explain all the technical backgrounds, why this time diff could happen.
I think, if you had asked them politely about an explanation of your measured difference some of their helpful students might have taken their time for an explanation. But I fear, that if you started with a plain accusation already, that nobody had interest and deleted it?
Can you really blame them for deleting an accusation with no proof? I would not.

I am interested: What is your theory behind it? BMW gave sport auto 1000 € to cap 4 seconds of the N'ring time? Please share your thoughts!

As expected. I'm still unamused (not comfortable) with BMW M's decision and their new love affair with Pirelli P Zeros. All tests have proven to show these tyres inferior to the original OEM Michelin PS4S over a mixture of asphalt like the Green Hell. Both this and M5 Competition were tested on Pirellis, not sure about base F90. I'm no racing driver so I will only guesstimate a small lap time improvement of Michelin fitted M cars over Pirellis. Cup 2's is a whole different story.

A distinct difference and decent weather permitting. Take a look at Merc AMG GT 4-Door lap times with said tyres over the standard PS4S OEM's.

A distinct difference and decent weather permitting. Take a look at Merc AMG GT 4-Door lap times with said tyres over the standard PS4S OEM's.

As far as I know @DeDe mention one test were M5 fas faster on PZero's then on PS4S. I don't know any other test were BMW was tested both on P Zero and PS4S to show the difference.
 
Tires make a huge difference especially with all the monster torque available with these cars.

A sample of politically correct, the E60 M5 without the limiter reached 205 miles per hour, or in Spanish 328 km/h, in 2005, also the M6!!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s.
