Starting to look for a replacement for our A1. Don't want to spend a lot of money but want something interesting and fun to drive, I know that's really difficult to find in an EV.

Once we started looking at how we use the A1, my wife drives 30km a day, to and from work, that's all. The longest the car has ever driven is 270km, it's done this twice in 9 years. So whats the point in buying a car for range when it will almost only drive 30km a day and maybe once ever 2-3 months drive 100km round trip to my wife's mothers house and back. Almost all it's driving will be with a single person, and occasionally a child.

So with those parameters the Mini Cooper SE Electric hit the spot. 230km range, small, light, fun to drive and can be made to look pretty interesting.

I've got a couple of colour options configured.

Other options are the ID.3, Peugeot 2008 and the Mazda CX-30.

What about FIAT 500e?

Driven the Mini E a couple of times and found it to be pretty tragic.
The platform is not suited for a Mini at all, and the added batteries make things even worse. Understeering is a big problem.

Pretty much the only Stellantis car where you forget Fiat is owned by them..... lovely little thing, and great update. Very popular over here where I live.

Would you consider an i3 over a mini? Alternatively the 330i hybrid. You should be able to commute 30km per day on electric power.

i3 is sold out in Norway, there are none left to order. 330i hybrid is about a lot more than I want to spend. Basically my wife wants a stylish city car that’s electric.

I have driven a 2020 and the face lifted 2022 model, they’re quite different. The 2022 feels pretty similar to a petrol MINI.

Get a Tezla Modelo 3. Charge once a week, fun to drive around the city and on longer journeys, lots of space, great technology.

Then go to a car wash with it, destroy the thin paint with high pressure washer, then let other people bend your doors, because they are made of thin aluminum...

Oh sorry, that's not good things about it...

Actually , 2022 M3s are pretty good built (China version for EU)

This what my wife ended up choosing. Cooper SE Maximise Edition, Moonwalk grey, black roof and mirrors, wasn't allowed to order stripes, chester malt brown interior, adaptive LED headlights, panorama roof, 17inch winter wheels, harmon kardon audio, charging box and instillation included, all for 357,000 NOK or €34,000. Delivery end of February. Also looked at the ID.3, the price for that was 445,000 not including winter tires and charging station, with those added closer to 500,000, with delivery in 9-12 months.

It will be MINI number 5.
