Monster's car shopping

The wagons just look wrong, the proportions are all out of wack, they remind me of a fat chick with a big nose on stilts.
In my case it is practicality over style. I needed the luggage space for my airport runs and wagons are the most suitable vehicle, easy to load stuff, and it handles better than any of those sporting SUV.

Looking forward to know what you got...
I reckon its a white W205 wagon with an AMG Kit....
Sh*t...you read my mind.

Got the deal done today eventually, car will be ready by next Monday. The specs are alright, I didn't get everything I wanted, but for this price, I guess it will do. And yes I actually brought my luggage to check if it fits. It fits, only just.

I am digging it, especially the open-pore wood trim. Are you saying bye to the Subie?

I think I sat inside it for about a min or two, and spent 5 hours negotiating, haven't looked at the wood closely, I hope they won't get scratched easily.

Unfortunately the Subie is going even though It is too good to let go.

It looks great.

Don't worry the open pore trim is great. It doesn't smudge, it conceals dust and it doesn't show scratches like the gloss trim. They need to get it on the E-class console ASAP.

Congratulations, many happy and healthy kilos ( distance, not weight @Beemer B773ER :D )

Bet that salesperson never seen anybody bring their own luggage to see if they fit ;)

What are the options you didn't get?

Your parents need THAT much luggage to go on a trip they do every month?

:D ;)
LOL..look I never ask questions, I just make sure that they are happy so I won't end up inside the luggage.

Thank you mate!

Yeah, everyone inside the showroom was looking at me going "WTF why does this guy have 3 big luggage with him" I know on paper, the W205 has almost the exact same dimension as the Subaru but you can never be too sure. It turns out the interior of the W205 is slightly smaller in every direction.

Ideally I want the car to be in metallic grey or have metallic paint and the bigger Command screen. However I was willing to compromise because the price I got was in line with a new CLA 250 Shooting Brake.

Literally a min after I did the deal, another guy told his dealer he wanted that car, so I walked over to them the bad news.

The Subaru has a much better shaped boot than the Mercedes, you'll probably miss that.

Next question what brand of luggage is the silver case in the middle? I'm always looking for luggage.

Indeed, the Subaru's boot has more use able space and a little wider and deeper.

The luggage is from Samsonite, they are great, solid, durable and can handle the abuse.

Brilliant, apart from 2 front tryres (thanks to Brisbane City Council and their lack of maintenance) its been great.
Which tires do you have on yours, I think mine has the Continental conti sports run flats. How much does it cost to replace them? What is the fuel consumption like?

I went to Bob Jane & got $535 each (2x front) Pirelli P Zero RFT. Reasoning behind it was that the RHF was blistered from a pot hole & rather than fix 1, get the 2 fronts replaced, I think the Conti's are a bit cheaper, don't always take the price from MB as gospel for tyres, shop around.
Economy? At last check I think it was about 7.5 per 100 (bout the same as the W204 C200 I had), I leave it in comfort mode except when I feel like having a blast (going to a show at Lakeside on Sunday) Thing is, it spends a lot of time tucked up in the garage and I plod to work in the E220.
