Smartphones [Hot!] Apple iPhone 5S and 5C

How was someone at Apple not fired for this iPhone 5c case design decision? Sloppy.

Yeah... I so much want Apple to have my fingerprint(most probably not only Apple). I'll no longer be able to kill people without getting caught...

The iPhone 5C/5S case is a brilliant marketing move. At least here, the 5C costs as much as the previous 5, but compared to the 5S it sounds like a bargain. Everyone that told me so far about the new iPhone, told me that the 5C is the purchase of the decade.

What I know is that I'm still keeping my two old Nokia phones, as they are great for calls. For everything else I don't care. I don't have neither facebook nor twitter.

These people either have money to burn or they are extremely devoted Apple supporters. You get a year old phone, now made with cheaper materials, for a small price drop. Purchase of the decade? Ask them have they ever heard of the nexus 4?

I dont know about you guys but whenever I try something else, i keep coming back to apple products. They are just so much easier to use. I have a samsung s4 with LTE which is literally has been collecting dust for the past 3 months. The gizmos and eye-sensitive features are nice but thats about them. That JB version has been revised at least 3 times and wherever i find my iphone reception dead, the s4 had the same results. One hand operation in Iphone is far better.

Although iphone doesnt seem tobe a game changer anymore, it actually is by not going complex like android or windows8. It is difficult to design something dumb-proof with only one button to control it allwithout loosing functionality!

Tell me your car doesn't even have a radio, granpa :D
To be honest I love the cheap Nokia phones with a battery lasting 1-2 weeks :D
I used one for 2 years before I went with a "smart"phone which has a battery lasting 1-2 hours :D

It does, but it supports no mp3 and fancy bluetooth and aux connections. The soundsystem of the Clio, doesn't even support CDs :D

Seriously though, I have no interest in using my mobile phone for anything other than making calls.

Also, I have no interest in communicating with my friends via the internet. We meet (almost) every night after work for a quick beer and we talk face to face. Also, I do not want a digital archive of who I am, where I am and what I am doing.

So, a smartphone is useless to me :)

I was like you when I was young :D

Amen to that.

New iPhones draw lines around the world

Outside Apple's flagship New York retail outlet on Fifth Avenue early Friday morning, the line wrapped around the store and then stretched for three more city blocks. The crowd waiting for new iPhones is usually a mix of Apple diehards and more casual fans, plus people hoping to resell the devices for a profit. A few marketers are also on hand, hawking their wares to the masses waiting on line. In New York, one man wearing basketball shorts was handing out cards and asking people to take a look at his son's app. Staffers from trade-in service Gazelle walked around handing out free pretzels.
Another man, who was not on line, just kept screaming, "Is anyone excited for the iPhone? Is anyone excited for the iPhone?"

Some people evenpaid line-sitters by the hour to grab an early spot. Why the fuss? For the first time, Apple (AAPL, Fortune 500) is offering two new iPhones: the flagship 5S and the cheaper, plastic iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S is similar in appearance to last year's iPhone 5. The new device is faster than its predecessor, however, and it features hardware upgrades like a beefed-up camera and a processor that measures motion data. The iPhone 5C comes in several different colors.

Ana Ramirez, who was waiting on line in New York since 4 a.m., said she was very excited to try out the new fingerprint sensor on the 5S. "I get the iPhone every year. It's just the best phone, hands down. Apple made it, so I know it will be the best," she said. But it's not likely that everyone waiting in line will get an iPhone on Friday. Apple Stores usually have the most in stock, but they also draw the longest lines. Retailers including Best Buy (BBY, Fortune 500) will also have the new iPhones, as will carriers AT&T (T, Fortune 500), Verizon (VZ, Fortune 500), Sprint (S, Fortune 500) and T-Mobile (TMUS). But their inventory usually sells out more quickly.

5S sells out in London: Indeed, scores of Apple fans in London went home disappointed after the iPhone 5S sold out at the city's flagship store in under two hours. The gold version of the 5S was first to go as several thousand people lined up outside the store on Regent Street. After standing in the queue for six hours, London university student Waleed Tariq was pleased to have snapped up a 5S, dismissing the more affordable model. "The 5C stands for 5 cheap. It's plastic and it looks cheap. I'm definitely not interested in that one," the 17-year-old said. Apple staff estimated that the number of people waiting matched previous releases. Queues in London, mostly made up of men, snaked down a side street and were funneled into a nearby square. Coffee stations were set up to serve the waiting crowds.

Many in London were buying iPhones just so they could resell them later, though Apple imposed a two-phone limit on customers. Some of those sellers pitched tents outside stores for days on end. Noah Green became the first person in the U.K. to buy the iPhone 5S after camping outside the store since Monday night. He and his friends took showers at a nearby gym and used an Apple-supplied umbrella to shield them from the rain.

"I wanted to be first. I've always been in the top ten but never first. Honestly this is the best feeling in the world," Green said. Green said someone offered him £300 (about $480) for his place in line. He turned them down but admitted he would have sold his spot "if someone wants to offer the right price." So what would be the right price? "Ten thousand pounds," Green said. "I know it sounds crazy, but people will pay that price."

^WTF is wrong with people?

If you are referring to people dressing up, they are Japanese, that explains it all. If you are referring to people queuing up to purchase the latest iphone, then yeah...I have the same question to ask them too.

^Yea, the queing up for a phone part. And then I see pics of people queuing up for food/supplies in other less fortunate parts of the world...depressing. :(

Yes, unfortunately the current and the up coming generation of people are generation "me". We are going to have some scary times ahead.

These people make me cringe..and feel like part of a sect when buying the iphone..

Can someone else up their game and make something worth a while, so i can switch?

PS
And no Samsung aint it, i cant walk around with a plastic wide ass device in my pocket..
